Had too open up the top hole and straighten out the bottom of the bracket but managed to get it to fit, just need a few longer bolts to hold it on properly. Going to spray it over the weekend and hopefully get it fitted to the chassis

I believe that is for the bonnet hinge/pivot point.

Good day today! Fitted the rear stays, calipers, disks, sprayed and hung the rad, fitted a new air filter and planned my next move! Ordered a new expansion tank from CBS as the standard tank is going to be an absolute ball ache to mount - www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/expansion-tank hopefully that will be here tomorrow. Word of advice for anyone ordering induction kits to replace the standard one....dont bother! I ordered 2 and neither of them fit in the exocet chassis (waiting on 2 refunds now) in the end I connected the factory pipe to the throttle body and then connected the MAF sensor to the pipe and then I brought an aftermarket filter and jammed that on the other side of the MAF sensor, perfect (sorry I didnt get a picture of this finished) The only issues I have is where to fit the temperature sensor, ive seen someone drill a hole in the end of the air filter and fit it there, it works but not pretty, the problem is, I think that sensor needs to be before the MAF sensor so it doesnt really leave any other options can someone clarify that as I would much prefer to fit the Temp sensor after the MAF sensor in the rubber tube and not drill into the air filter.

Really enjoyed reading your blog for tips and shades of things to come (brake & fuel lines), and like the way she is looking. The red pipes & calipers set off the cam cover nicely. Not yet sure what or how we're going to paint/powder-coat, but hope to get the engine clean and looking good like yours.
2 days off busy selling parts (roll-bar to Italy & headlights to Cyprus), most other big bits, so mine owes me nothing now, but it's time to get the shell off tomorrow, get the suspension raised and wedged and really see how dirty/rusty things really are.
Must try and find somebody nearby so I can see solutions in the flesh!
Oh well, on with the motley.

Thanks Fin, it does help to see completed kits in the flesh, im luckily enough to have seen a few, if ever you get stuck post a few good photos and there is always someone on here with an answer! I couldn't have got this far without the forum! As far as cleaning, a wire brush and few tins of black hammerite is all you need and mine was really rusty! Once mine is mechanical sound ill be doing more tarting up again If ever you passing by DY6 feel free to pop in, not sure I can teach you much but you can always have a look at how ive "tried" to do it
