I really like how your rear muffler is turning out. I have the Enthuzacar setup in mine, and although it fits nice / sounds good, I'm not crazy about how the 'completely vertical' muffler looks. Yours looks MUCH cleaner!! Thanks! I really like the look as well, but the downside is you cant run a rear swaybar since the tubing gets in the way. Not at problem for me, i dont want to run a sway in the rear

Mike, amazing progress! I'm aiming to start the registration process this weekend. Great exhaust mount set up. I had to fab one this weekend that was a bit less elegant. Look forward to having a few of these on the roads in Chicago! Are you aiming to have it registered by this summer?

It sounds like individual experiences vary quite a bit depending on who you talk to at the DMV, I've heard stories of people having to take a few tried just to find someone who knows the process. I'll update in excruciating detail once I get through it.

Suspension can now be crossed off the list. Take the black rubber/plastic stockings off the bottom of the bump stops. They will not work on the exocet, end up bunching and physically causing the spring/suspension to bind because they compress into the spring perch.

Thanks for the heads up, now that I look at it, those covers would never work with any kind of suspension travel.

Good tip on the plastic sleeves, dietcoke. Sure enough, mine were all fudged up. You can cut them into pieces to remove them withou taking anything apart, btw.

Finished up a few more things today. I mounted the gas tank, I used 3/8" hardware with 1.25" coupling. I also mounted the radiator and buttoned up the coolant system. After this, I laid out the harness and plugged everything in and cranked it over. It builds oil pressure and the dash lights up. I don't have rubber fuel line right now, so I cant actually start it yet.

THE CAR RUNS!
It needs a few tweaks to the timing, and I think it will run great, I just need to get my hands on a timing light.
Next step is to clean up the harness and get it tucked away.

CONGRATS!! It's a great feeling, and hearing it run for the first time gave me motivation to finish things up.

I had a bit of time this week to finish up most of the harness. The car now starts, runs, and sounds awesome. I'm waiting for my tires to get mounted so I can hopefully go for a ride this weekend. I found a small battery at Walmart of all places. It is a U1 size battery with 230 CCA. It works great and I have really worked it hard the past few days turning the engine over many times. The best part is it was under $20. You short/average sized people really have it easy with the seat mounting. I'm 6'7" with a 38" inseam, I had to get the seat back as far as possible. It took me almost 6 hours of work, but it is in on sliders and has about 1/8" of clearance on each side. This is with a 16" wide aluminum Kirkey, I'm glad I'm built like a stick. That is it for now until the weekend

Looking good. I've been gauging my progress with you. Glad to see we are both almost ready for first drives. I've been waiting till I was done with wiring, but Autox season is coming up fast and I can't wait much more,
