I had a bit of time today to finish up the exhaust. It is all tacked together, now I'm going to get it TIG welded at a shop. I'm confident I can make two pieces of metal stick together, but I am no welder.

What do they weigh? I almost got rotas too until I found holeshots in stock They weigh just over 15 lbs. Not the lightest wheels, but they sure are the right price.

Care to share where you got them so cheap? I just found them on craigslist. The guy bought them for his Honda, but they wouldn't clear his fenders.

Hey cool build Mike :-). I was wondering how do you plan on registering it once done? I'm in Chi burbs too and I know IL is really tough on getting stuff like this registered.
I'm actually thinking about buying one that is already finished from another state. The guy already had it inspected and register as a customs vehicle with the Exocet VIN on the title so it has a regular car title. I wasn't sure if I could just buy it and just go to the DMV and just transfer the title over like any other car. Any thoughts on this?

I have looked at other threads/forums, and people say it takes about 2 months with all the correct paperwork. I also heard that the inspector as of last year wasn't too critical, as long as you have the basics( ie headlights, turn signals, windshield) you should be good to go. I will cross that bridge when I get there. If I can't get it done in Illinois, I also have an address is Indiana I could possibly use. Here is the Illinois doc that states what needs to be done www.cyberdriveillinois.com/publications/pdf_publications/vsd842.pdf
