What are your thoughts on mounting the windshield glass into the steel channel?? Momentive RTV108 silicone. Strongest silicone i have found. Its holding my 1200 pound aquarium together with just a thin seam.

Will the RTV material take up the entire gap, or will you use some sort of c-channel made of "soft-ish" material also?

I made a few small rubber spacers to place in the channel to keep the glass centered while the RTV cured. The RTV will fill the entire channel, one tube should be plenty. Go to McMaster Carr they have several types of RTV silicone, the 108 is clear, but there is also 103, which is black.

I filled the gas tank completely (as full as I could get with the angle of the tank, about 3/4 full) and I had a small leak. I know how much of a pain in the butt it is to access the fuel filler and I did not to go through that again. So... I decided to cut a giant hole behind the license plate. I'm not really sure why I didn't think of this sooner, but it makes life WAY easier.

Do you plan to cover this hole up?

Do you plan to cover this hole up? The license plate covers it up. Its not like having the hole there will let in water or dirt, its already open on the other side.

And on the topic of license plate... Any updates from our friends at SOS? I'm mid-process with fenders and windshield. Hoping to get fenders done this week. Need to do some hunting at home depot to figure out upper side panels..

Need to do some hunting at home depot to figure out upper side panels.. I called about a week ago, he said they are still "researching". I'm not sure how long it takes to research, but its been almost a month.

Hopefully good news comes at the end of the wait. Keep me posted, I'll be resubmitting in a few weeks.

Hence the blue tape outlining the plate! damn that is a great idea. If/when I have to remove the tank cover, I'm going to copy this. Many-a-cuss-words happened when installing the fuel filler!

That's a great idea. I've been using the tail lights for holes but that plate hole will be much nicer.

I have been having problems with fuel leaking out of my gas cap. It is because I purchased a vented gas cap, and when the fuel splashes around in the tank, it comes out the vent. My fix is to epoxy the vent closed. I have not driven it yet since the weather is crappy, but I think this will solve my problem.
So just a heads up, do not purchase a vented gas cap, you will have gasoline all over the rear of your car.

Hmmm .. I'm not seeing that issue, using what appears to be the same marine style vented cap that you have. Then again, mine is installed on the passenger side giving more 'run length' to the connector hoses. Also, the cap should keep the fuel sealed in when on (allows air in to replace the fuel as it is burned, but nothing comes out).

Leaking fuel problem solved with some epoxy sealing the vent in the cap. I added a few LEDs up front for the driving and turning lights. I also added a fire extinguisher, because some fool put this thing together and I never know when its going to go up in flames. And finally, I guess my Exo doesn't like glass too much. Both sides cracked completely through after hitting a decent sized bump in the road. I guess Lexan is next on the list. I just have to decide if 3/8" is enough, or if I can cram in 1/2".
