Hey einy - do you think there will be a fitment issue with hood and the VVT actuator valve on the 01-05 engines? Might be. Mine is a 1991 1.6, and the boss on the throttle body of mine for idle air adjustment is pretty close to the hood. If that is close, the vvt actuator will likely be closer still. I cutout my hood directly under where the radiator is, so I could get the hood raised to clear all bumps in my case.

Mounted the radiator with the upper mounts. Decided to drill and tap holes. I don't like the idea of using rivets, especially as the radiator bolts are hard to remove with a frame bar right in the way. Having two people helps a lot in mounting it!

Also, I got the clutch bled. I had to adjust the pedal plunger rod threaded all the way out to get the clutch to release. The pedal hits the floor before the rubber stopper, I may grind the pedal a bit to give another 1/8" travel.

Jon, Did you use new clutch slave and master cylinder? Is there only an adjustment on the master cylinder side or both on the MC and slave cylinder side?

The adjustment is only on the pedal/ master cylinder side. I believe the flying miata clutch requires a bit longer travel than stock, that compounds the problem.

I had not read that, but yes, I adjusted it as they describe. I'll confirm I do not have it too tight to block the hole in the master cylinder. The clutch now releases about 2" from the floor.

Welp, I checked and I did need to back the plunger back a little bit to allow fluid to return back to the master cylinder. Thank you for posting that. I also ground the back of the pedal so it no longer contacts the floor. This way I get full travel. I would say that the clutch engagement point is 1.5 - 2" from the floor and is at an acceptable level, but a little lower than stock.

Mounted a seat so I can play race car in the garage. I have sliders for the seats. I centered them between the frame tubes on the floor. I'd say it can be adjusted to fit a 6 foot tall person to a 5' 6" tall person. At 5' 10" this works fine for me, but will have to be modified if I were taller! I got U shaped steel straps and ground sections of the U to make the sliders not interfere. Seat generally fits well.

Got both seats in. Installed exhaust. Enthuzacar cat fits no problem. Happy with clearance now. Question: the exhaust came with an extra hanger. Where and how should I mount this?

Trans tunnel looks good! But it looks like I will need to cut the hole for the shifter to be bigger. The hardware store didn't have grommets big enough for my battery cables, so I 3d printed some.

Nice work. I like the chassis color in that light. What seats are those?

Corbeau FX1 Pro. I like em, and they fit well.
