Its exciting to finally have the frame right? I recommend installing the drivers side (and possibly the passenger side) firewall panel and drilling holes 12" or so apart and installing rivnuts down the passenger side of the trans tunnel before mating the frame and roller skate.

Getting the frame and paying for it sure did make it more real. I appreciate the advice, I need all of it I can get. Got the frame primed and painted this weekend. I will have to get a picture of the frame back in my garage. I painted it hotrod black in satin, and by I mean Brian at Body Works Plus.

Darn ... now I learn this! Had to do some 'shortening' of the passenger side firewall panel last night before it would fit ... I think about 3/8" came off, but now fits like the pervervial glove. Finding mismatch in the tunnel aluminum where it meets the firewall, leaving a gap of about 3/8" on the driver's side, 1/8" on the passenger side, with the 'top flange' butted up to the steel firewall. Still pondering the best solution for this.
Curious - once you get your chassis back from paint Hockey930 - how your firewall panels and center tunnel fit.
Also - IC - do the rivnuts you mention for the trans tunnel only go through the top wall of that tubing, or all the way thru both walls? I am guessing top wall only, but curious how long the rivnuts that you used were.

I installed rivnuts to hold the trans tunnel down and rivnuts running down the inside edge of the tunnel for the brake and fuel lines. The rivnuts should only go through one side of the steel tube. I think the rivnuts were rated for clamping .5mm to 3.3mm.

I am at about this point now, I am about to go outside and attached the bulkheads. So what I think you are saying is install the front and rear bulkhead pannels with rivits. After that mount the trans tunnel, mount the drivers side of the tunnel with rivets and mount the passenger side with rivnuts?

I installed both sides' bulkhead panels with rivets that came from Exomotive. For the trans tunnel I used M5x0.8 rivnuts on both sides, front lip, and rear tab in the frame. Secured the tunnel with M5x0.8 stainless button head cap screws. All supplies sourced from McMaster Carr. Also, I used the Exomotive supplied edging on the front side and rubber gaskets around all the rest of the perimeter

I would mount all of the trans tunnel with rivnuts but you can do that later. The rivnuts I was talking about are on the inside of the trans tunnel to mount the brake and fuel lines to.

I used only one rivnut there (on the passenger side tube to bolt the brake servo pipe to), and drilled holes for bolts / nuts everywhere else where I was going thru a panel instead of into a tube. Remaining lines are secured to the brake servo pipe (as is the throttle cable in my case).

Passenger side- I just can't get it all the way in, I am however doing a hell of a job scratching up the paint with it. I put some tape on the panel so I could draw where I think I need to trim it up.

I had EXACTLY the same problem with my passenger side. Ended up trimming ~ 3/8" off of the entire top profile along with some trimming on the outside of the panel around where the chassis round time comes in to get mine to fit. As a result, the holes that go left to right in the middle of that panel right below the bend line didn't line up with the cross bar. Oh well ... sealed them with silicone from the engine side.
Driver's side went in without issues.

on the bulkhead panels, did any of yours over hang the trans tunnel. Mine seem to be mostly fine at the top but as the move down to the bottom of the frame they overhang probably 1/4 or so into the tunnel.

This is the sheet metal that I currently have hanging over the edge, is this normal?

I am going to make individual pictures as I just lost my post after clicking on the wrong button. I have been working on the car a bit lately, and though I would post some long overdue updates. (yes this build has take over 3 years.....) Here are most of the wires I cut out.
