This is going to be a very slow build thread as I have a lot going on with the family. However I knew that getting into it and still decided that even though it was a bad idea that I was going to go ahead and do it anyway. I found a donor for sale down the street from my house for $1200, I was planning on paying 800-1000 for a non running 94 with oddly exactly 90k on it...... scratches head. The car had been sitting for a long time but looked to be straight and had compression when turned over. A few minutes after I got there a guy in a pickup with a trailer and his wife show up and the bidding war started. This guys wife was such a B that I knew no other way to win this argument then walking away with the car. I ended up in at $1550 (ouch), but got to smirk as she drove away. I had my buddy go get my NB and tow it down the street to my house. Miata towing miata is quite a sight. Anyway, here was the car. It cleaned up a bit with a quick wash. It turned out the the fuel pump was bad, when I got in the tank I saw why... I decided that I was going to dump 10 gallons of muratic acid in the tank. (after taking handfuls of rust out of it) It came out perfect looking. The car started for weeks upon weeks. However the pump failed again. When I looked in the tank it looked like some kind of chemical reaction had taken place and everything is the tank was covered with some brown hard coating that looked like rust however it was also on the aluminum parts. At that point I decided to move forward with the project and remove the tank after the body was off.

I started with the interior My buddy Derrick helping. Sold some parts Body it's time to come off Sometimes a wiffel ball bat is all you need to make it all balance (I had to use a grill brush to get the bat close enough. That wasn't as bad as I thought That catches me up to about where I am now, I have ordered some parts, I will post up what I have chosen so far soon.

Shot of wiring harness, I am am dumbfounded by the amount of wires that are in a car that had hardly any electronics in it.

That's a good idea. It is pretty dirty. I assume you are talking about the actual brand name "Gunk engine degreaser"
