I decided to take your advice and do a little bit of degreasing on the roller skate. I used Gunk original which worked pretty well however I didn't know that gunk gel was more powerful. I think I would give that a shot next time. I wire brushed (drill attached) the control arms and coated them with por15. They look marginal. I am not trying to build a show car and they are now all one color and not rusty. They are a lot less glossy after drying. Has anyone used por15? if so did you put anything over the top of it to prevent UV light from breaking it down?

Is that pic of engine after cleaning?? How long did you let the Gunk soak in.. It should take at least 2 cans to do a rolling unit.. Did you use a hose or pressure cleaner to rinse off.. I use a pressure cleaner and they always come very clean.. Pull you plug wires out of the cam cover and remove ant water that got in the holes..Same for the trans turret were shifter is if the boot for it is torn..

Re. your POR15 coating question - I chose not to worry about a top coating - the Exo won't be left outside much or driving for long hours at midday, and here in the northern UK we don't really know what UV light is anyway

Yes that was after cleaning it. I don't have a pressure washer so I used a some wire brushes and a hose to clean it off. I did not do the valve cover area in fear that I wasn't sure what I was going to get wet.I tried to be cautious of the shifter area as that boot is totaly gone. I just placed my order yesterday for all of the parts to rebuild the shifter. It looks like it was about $70 to order from a dealer.

I decided to sand everything I had painted with por15 lightly (220 grit) and paint over it with por15 top coat in chassis black. I also got my brake lines in for exomotive. I guess for some reason I thought that they were going to come done however it looks like there is some assembly required. And then there is beer, I like beer.

You will have to trim a few of the lines and add the compression fittings. This gives you the flexibility to run them how you want.

Drilled and tapped the pan this weekend. I know it looks a little low but all of the research I have done and Begi say that this a good spot. If could have been a tiny bit higher and still missed the windage tray. I decided to go wit the ARtech feed and drain kit.

Did a little bit of work on the car this weekend. Still waiting on my upper ball joints from Summit, they have been on back order for 3 months. I also changed the trans fluid, after hours of research on gl4 fluids I decided to go with the motorcraft XT-M5-QS. The trans took every bit of 2 quarts and a bit of a 3rd quart. I borrowed this image, but that is also the cheapest place I found to order it from.
