Those lights look really good. Thanks for the link to the clamps, I'll be ordering two sets soon myself.

Crap, I missed something when I wired these up. Didn't realize the stock switch broke the ground for the low beams when switching to the high. The way I have these wired up now, the headlights turn off when I switch on the high beams. Gotta come up with something different.

So now I'm stumped. The stock switch does keep the lows and highs grounded at the same time.... I must be missing something.
In the mean time, I moved on to the rest of the lights and discovered the wiring diagram for my front lights was wrong. Took about an hour to figure that out and correct it.

Does anyone have a 99/2000 Miata? Can you verify if your high beams stay on with the low beams?

Thanks guys. I figured out where my confusion was coming from. I have an 02 DD Miata where all 4 light stay on and it had me chasing imaginary issues and second guessing things that were all wired up perfectly as the 99/00 lights only turn on one set at a time.
10 minutes with google got me a better wiring diagram for the head light switch and both the setups for both year cars. Basically the lows go to chassis ground instead of the headlight switch for ground which is why they stay on in the 01+ cars. Should be an easy fix. I have to retap two wires for the high beam indicator light and all should work perfectly.
So take note: anyone running these lights with a 99/00 donor or if you have the dual projector high/lows and want all 4 lights to stay on, you'll need to setup your wiring this way.
More details later tonight.

Hi beams work! All I did was move the red wire (low beam ground) from the switch to chassis ground. The high beam indicator light shares the ground with all the other indicators and I can't rewire it because the cluster is that plastic piece with copper channels inside. Looks like the only way I'm going to get that working is to swap in an 01-05 cluster (which honestly isn't out of the question). With that, all the wiring is confirmed working so I started wrapping up the harness. First is a layer of tape, then a weather proof jacket or plastic loom followed by a final layer of tape. Should seal up the wiring well. Tomorrow I will mount it to the chassis and put the finishing touches on the gauge cluster pod.

I got that body trim you recommended. It is awesome, so much better than the stuff Exomotive sends.

Haven't posted the last few days because my phone has been quirky. Took pics with the go-pro of me finishing up the wiring and the front fenders and need to upload them. Sunday I got my phone working again and yesterday I finished up the gauge cluster. Replaced that crappy china trim with the nicer stuff. Really happy with the way it turned out. The piece on the right is a marine dual USB charger for my cellphone and gopro. It replaces the Miata cigarette lighter. Works great! www.ebay.com/itm/281762725149%20Also pictured is the stock hazard switch (which you need if you have a 99/2000 donor and wish to keep the stock turn signal setup) and that 19mm fog light button I posted about earlier. For mounting the gauge cluster in the cover, I too couldn't get the top bolts to fit so I upgraded the bottom bolts to 1/4" for a stronger setup. Ill get the pics of the weekends progress up tonight. I also ran into a huge issues with the gas tank cover. When I initially set it up, I did it without the tank installed which turned out to be a huge mistake because the cover hits the top of the tank. I can't lower the tank and must raise the cover mounting holes at least 5/8". Really pissed off about that! So much so that I may end up ordering a new gas tank cover and starting fresh again. Between this, the extra hole for the purge and changing my mind about the turn signals this piece is all messed up...

Are you certain there is insufficient clearance to lower the tank?

Are you certain there is insufficient clearance to lower the tank? Yes. There maybe half an inch I could drop it if I removed the shield but that's not enough.
