Greetings fellows. Got another USA guy here. Been on this forum a while reading all your build threads taking ideas in for my own. Now is my chance! I'm not new to working on cars. Been turning wrenches on Mitsubishis for the better part of 15 years now. A project like the Exocet is the biggest challenge I've under taken but I don't feel it's outside my skill level.
Just bought a 2000 donor with 140k on it for a song. Picking it up this weekend hopefully!
Paint seems a bit rough and its got its quirks but it should be the perfect donor. Southern car its whole life and only one owner!
Check it out! Absolutely no rust!
Next step is to get in line with Exomotive for a Sport chassy!
HELP ME 2 HELP YOU - please complete your Personal information: go to Menu>Profile>EditProfile>Personal>Signature> enter country code (UK,USA,etc.) your MEV, your donor's year and engine size (then click Save) This leads to faster trouble shooting!
Thanks for the welcome! Donor shipment has been delayed but I should be getting it next weekend now.
Curious about how the ordering process works (from Exomotive). When you guys filled out the online form for your chassy, did you all pay the deposit right away or did you get a message saying that exomotive would be in contact with you?
I did speak with Kevin prior to ordering so he is aware I was ordering one. Its been almost a week already.
Drove it this morning a bit to get familiar with the car and any potential issues before tear down. Other than the wiper and window motors being slow, the clutch grabs high and the glove box is broken, the only mechanical issue seems to be an on/off throttle stumble. Like the decel Enleanment is too high. Probably an issue with dried seals in the throttle body. Can't find any exhaust leaks which usually attribute to this behavior.

You are going to start tearing down already? I figure I have at least 2 more months and probably 3 before my kit is ready so I am just going to drive my car around and see if I can find all of its problems before I tear it apart. That way I will know what to fix when its apart. I just hope the timing belt holds out, I have no idea when, or if, it has been replaced.
