When did you get your calipers? RTR had promised me a call, but must have been busy Was going to go down the Hi Spec route, but changed my mind now after doing some reading. Loving the wing, I think Ill be stealing that idea Bookmarked this thread, every update inspires me to do more on mine. Excellent work *doffs hat*

fantisic build great front wing, but will it not touch the wheels when on full lock ? Well spotted that man. At the moment the wheels will foul the front wing when the wheels are in the position they are, and on full lock. When the car is on the ground the wheels will clear by about 10mm on full lock, but I will be moving the wing forward by about another 10mm so they clear on all events. I am waiting for a spacer for the uprights before I can put the wheels on in the correct position, so I will put the wing in its final position then.

Loving the wing, I think Ill be stealing that idea Bookmarked this thread, every update inspires me to do more on mine. Excellent work *doffs hat* My calipers have been with RTR about 1 week. This was something I asked for when I ordered my kit last August and this started the ball rolling - matching calipers all round. Not as easy as it sounds with 'off the shelf' units, so Hispec were called. To cut a long story short, their has needed to be a lot of development at RTR and Hispec to get them to mount and operate correctly and thus RTR have had a set on their demo car for testing before sale, and have excellent results. These calipers have been worth the wait for me and very pleased. The rear uprights have needed a small modification which I will hopefully be collecting next week and then all will be complete. This is possibly why RTR have yet to call as they are on the edge of being 100% complete ? Thanks for the comments on the front wing. If you are looking for a front wing then I can get more made if its what you require, as well as all the other carbon parts that will be on my car eventually. Contact RTR or PM me and I will give you some more info.

mabbs its not on, your putting the rest of us to shame with this build very high quality kit and build oh and I want your garage too One of the reasons I chose this kit was the build quality of other peoples MEV/RTR vehicles. Their are some superb engineered builds on this forum and I am robbing there ideas ;D

Be nice to see it at the 2nd AMM if not Stoneleigh or Newark. nigel Pretty much waiting for parts in all areas to be able to progress: Rear wheels not due until March sometime, Engine is waiting pistons and rods mainly (1st set got smashed - another long story) should be early March, Gearbox currently being built, Carbon panels/seats being made, - most of the other parts need these bits to continue. Looks like I will be having a bulk of parts arriving all at the same time Obviously want it finished ASAP but I also don't want to rush it and not be happy with what I have done. Would be nice to be at Newark and I think that is realistic at the moment. Jon

Few more parts arrived this week: Forged pistons and rods finally arrived after an accident at the manufacturers for the 1st set. Had to have them made to the correct compression ratio as no one has them on the shelf !! These have now gone to the engine builder along with a few other bits, should have the engine back in a few weeks.

New rear uprights have been made and powder coated. New uprights have been made to accomodate the Hi-Spec calipers. Hand-break mechanism:

Hi mabbs
I'm really lovin your build, and the story that this thread is telling. It's great to see the ultimate expression of a Rocket. It's right at the other end of the spectrum from my car but I think thats another plus for the Rocket, it can offer a car from my spec at about £7k to your spec which would appear to cost a little more.
My reason for dropping you a line is to check that your uprights have some webs on the back, I can't see from the picture above, but if there is no extra bracing, with the power you will generate, you will need to reinforce them. Just checking
Cheers

Oh, and another thing, the uprated engine mounts are a good idea, I have burst one of mine at a sprint day. It is filled with oil which leaked all over the place. I drained it and filled the mount with sikoflex to reinforce it, but your mounts look cool.
Cheers
