Hi mabbs I'm really lovin your build, and the story that this thread is telling. It's great to see the ultimate expression of a Rocket. It's right at the other end of the spectrum from my car but I think thats another plus for the Rocket, it can offer a car from my spec at about £7k to your spec which would appear to cost a little more. My reason for dropping you a line is to check that your uprights have some webs on the back, I can't see from the picture above, but if there is no extra bracing, with the power you will generate, you will need to reinforce them. Just checking Cheers Mattsmev Hi Matt, Thanks for the kind words. With regards to the uprights, they do have some webbing (see pic below) which is now standard in the kit but I believe the earlier kits did not have this webbing. The Motor sport company owner that is building my engine noticed this when he collected the engine as he has seen them without the webbing and was concerned but has given it the OK. Hopefully they will do the job but this is why I am posting as many pics as I can of the build. This is my 1st build and there are many Rockets out there and owners like yourself who can help me and others with there experiences. From my point of view the more comments the better

Oh, and another thing, the uprated engine mounts are a good idea, I have burst one of mine at a sprint day. It is filled with oil which leaked all over the place. I drained it and filled the mount with sikoflex to reinforce it, but your mounts look cool. Cheers Mattsmev I found the engine mount manufacturer and visited the company who gave me a demonstration on the mounts which convinced me this is the way to go. The OEM torsion mounts on most cars are designed for comfort which allows the engine to move for smooth acceleration I have been told, and with consistent hard acceleration will cause the engine mounts to fail - especially the oil filled unit as it it quite soft. The downside is that you will feel more engine vibration thought the car but they do two hardnesses for competition and fast road/race applications. They are not that much more expensive as a kit than the OEM units so was an easy decision for me. They can also be purchased individually and my personal opinion is that the torsion mount is a must for these cars to reduce inertia and rocking of the engine

Can you tell us where to get the mounts and how much. My engine is out getting rebuilt and aiming for 220bhp so makes sense to change them now!

Wow Mabbs, your build is looking amazing, you must be ready to drop in the engine soon.... Regards Jim Ready and waiting for the engine, although I still haven't got the rear wheels yet so I can put it on the floor !! - they should be here by end of the month. Engine is being assembled but due to it being the start of the race season, my engine is a little low in the priorities for them, but should have it back soon then can make some big progress
