Hi Mabbs, I'm on the hunt for a new 2 litre engine so any chance you can let me know where you got yours from? Floor looks mint btw! Got my engine from here - www.kitpartsdirect.com He was advertising on e-bay and selling them for about £600 but can not find them on his web site or e-bay so not sure if he has sold out. Worth giving him a call. New engine still in the crate with a cirtificate. This is the other company that is well known for supplying new Zetec engines - www.powertorque.co.uk. Failing that If you want brand new set of pistons, rings, rods, bearings etc to put in a donor engine then mine will be for sale soon.

Bit more progress recently - all suspension is on, QR steering, column and extension, radiator and fan. Brake calipers will be with me in the new year so will be able to complete the front end. Have managed to source all stainless steel nuts, bolts, washers and spacers so far. Last pic is of the steering column bracket. Extension is stainless steel with a square on one and and hex to suit rack coupling on the other. Had some more pre-preg carbon fibre flat sheet made today so will be making the front panels over x-mas period - lots of cardboard for templates

X-mas prezie arrived today - just in time as they have been on order for 6 weeks and only the fronts have arrived. Rears will be in February They are light weight rims for fast road/race use. The fronts are 15 x 7 - 4 x 108 PCD with an offset of 40mm. These weigh 5.3kg each and perfectly suit a 195 or 205 tyre. The rears are 15 x 8 - 4 x 108 PCD so that I can get a 225 or 235 tyre on the rear. This Wheel rim weighs 6.2kg each. The offset for the rears is being made to my dimension so that they do not rub and I dont have to use spacers- just have to determain what it is using the fronts as a dummy Very happy with look also.

Wonder if anyone has seen them (in aluminuim) for MX-5, I did find www.leventechnology.co.uk, who look like the manufacturer of the TVR parts. Tim

Cracking build, look forward to seeing this one up and running Many thanks. Man flu has attacked me the past week so nothing done over the weekend. Front end is nearly complete (steering/panels/cooling etc) just needs to be fettled and final re-assembly. Will put some better/bigger pics up then

Very clean. Can I ask how you managed to keep the grease off the arms when you were fitting the crush tubes. I'm covered in the stuff

Slowly running out of components to move the build forward but some more parts to arrive next week hopefully. Gearbox parts are being taken to the transmission builder this weekend to be assembled. Fully chemically cleaned inside and out, dye pen every part, all new bearings, seals, gaskets and fittings. Picked up a donor box from the scrappy and have purchased a Quaife ATB LSD and Quaife close ratio straight cut gear set. Should do 55mph in 1st and a top end of 150mph+ (15" wheels and max 8000RPM) with the final drive chosen. Rev drop in each gear change (due to ratios chosen) is also very low so revs should allways stay in the 'sweet spot' - pending on were we get with the final engine performance ;D
