Wow, that looks very impressive, lucky it seized at slow speed and not one minute b4. Did the motor get too hot and lock up? Have you discovered the cause?

Hi Stuart
yes I was very luck.
Cause was Diff low oil and hand brake on and to much torque about 850 ft/lb at the wheels. It was just one from the wreckers to try out 4.44:1 ratio. I think it was a old Diff it seized the pinon gear.
But good news I am getting a E-30 LSD Diff with 5.44:1 ratio so being direct drive this should hit the sweet spot of the electric motor 5000 rpm at 60 mph at 165hp.
In hind sight i should have put a gearbox in but I wanted to keep it simple.
Should get recon Diff in 2 weeks and will post up results.
The really cool thing is the regenerated braking its on a pressure sensor in brake line so I can really dial in how much braking I want in video it was about 35% (280 amps back to battery) The two controllers can handle 1000 amps.
Cheers Conrad

Glad it wasn't the motor. Your regen is a great figure. I prefer a direct connection to drive the diff rather than a trans

Why? What's the pros and cons please?

Hi with a AC motor reverse is a matter of telling the controller no big relay contractors need.
so direct drive eliminates the need for a gearbox weight engineering etc
yes you have to play with diff ratios and it limits your top speed, but I really don't want to go much faster than 150kph.
And it accelerates quicker
goal is to do some hill climbs against a few petrol cars.

Ha, Just re-read I thought Stuart was saying he prefers a Direct Drive to a Diff Drive and was wondering what that meant! I understand now that you mean driving the diff directly rather than through a box.
Sorry for any confusion.

Finally the new rebuilt $3900.00 BMW motorsport 5.44:1 LSD Differential turned up. And the fun begins slightly larger than the old one.
