Just wondering are you based in south shields? we can people from shields sandancers.
So you didn't need an interior mirror to pass the IVA? is that correct

You will need a nearside mirror with acceptable indirect vision if no interior mirror is fitted.
The wording of the IVA manual has now changed, they could ask you to mount an interior mirror high on a stalk, quote below.
"Note 3: The interior mirror must be positioned as far as is
practical to afford the best possible view to the rear, if the interior
rear-view mirror does not provide any rearward vision its
presence shall not be required."
