A few more hours work at the weekend. Mounted radiator and sculptured the 2 front side panels.
Gonna review my options for brake lines.

Some progress has been made!!!! Fitted and covered the front side panels (however the drivers one needs to come back off for a small trim around the steering UJ), front mesh painted and fitted, steering column attached (used 20mm rose joint and 20mm machined connection bar), fitted front bulkhead panel (needs covering), fitted 2 cooling pipes using hydraulic hose clamps, sculptured copper brake lines (awaiting 3 off male ends for the master cylinders which my mate has kindly sourced). Custom made Braided Flexi's have been sourced at £100 for all 4, which I think is reasonable. Oh, I have also fitted my (copied) fuel tank retainer, just the pump restraining bars to be fitted nearer the time. A close up. Next job, order low pressure brake hose and flexi's and finish off brakes, then onto engine & gearbox assembly.

Some additional progress - seats fitted to runners, brakes finally complete and bled, front bulkhead complete and bonnet fitted (lock not shown in this pic). Next job is the engine bay cover fitment and cutting, gearbox marriage to engine, engine dress and then fitment.

Hi good looking build - nice colour selection Just noticed the bump steer comment - its quite easy to check if you need to adjust anything, from the front check that the steering track rod link is parallel to the bottom front bone. If it (both sides this is) isn't, you'll need to add some washers to the steering rack to space it until its parallel. You can get quite an@l and buy gauges to dial out bump steer - but a visual check worked for me! Cheers, Ol

Just fitted a set of these yesterday, hopefully it will be a rolling chassis (on the ground) at the weekend. Next job to fit the engine cover, rear wing stays and wings. Then its engine time.............

Fitted the fixed part of the engine cover last night but then found the cut out lid would not fit the hole it came from. I guess this is why they have to be cut into 3 pieces and heavily 'adjusted'. Just need to 'adjust'the lid over the weekend.

I've cut the cover into 3 pieces (1 opening lid & 2 fixed to the frame), the 2 fixed pieces are fitted but the lid would not fit back in the hole as the radius corner were pushed in by the support bars. I am now 'adjusting' the lid to suit.

It happens, the whole assembly is under stress, then when you cut it..
Ahhh!
It all moves.
Mine was the same.
Until it fell off.

My cars not finished, my engine is still on a pallet and my cover is also falling off just like Steve's has! I'd rather spend more money getting engine parts painted etc rather than ruin the car by putting that scrappy cover on that don't fit! Lol. Wayne.

I know I don't update my diary as much as some, but I have plenty of other things which take up my time. So tonight I feel I've reached a big milestone by turning the engine over from the starter button. This is good for me as I hate electrics, next stage to bring the rest of the engine wiring together for engine start-up / running. Yeeehaaaa!!!!!
