thanks for the info, I'll give that a try when it comes time for the rack.
I was able to get the doors off today and trunk lid. Unbolted the top and started to drain the tank. Unbolted the rear from the body and tried to unscrew the axel nut but i guess I'll have to put the wheels back on, the brank could not hold it.

Make sure you unstake the axle nut before turning.

OK,got the nuts loose, so I'm good to go.
I unbolted everything else I could find and it looks like I'm ready to pop the body off.
I just have 2 questions if anyone has the answers,
1st, there is a clamp that is holding the brake cable up above the drive shaft and I can't see how to free it up. The spring has been removed and the cables going to each brake are free. Can anyone tell me if I have to wait until the body is off to remove the cable?
2nd, The brake and fuel lines that run under the body, can I leave them or do I need to remove before poping the body off? The clamps are unbolted and the lines are free.
Thanks
Ron

Leave the fluid lines and harness on the PPF.. Push harness down through the trunk floor.. If the cables are free of the rear calipers you should be good to lift.. Don't forget the speedo cable and ground strap secured to the firewall..

If you look close, you'll see the hole in the firewall where the vin was.
Question, will there be any type of alignment issue if I unbolt the PPF in order to rehab the front and rear suspension before bolting the frame on?

By the way, I took the body to the scrap yard and they would not take it because I cut out the VIN.
If you plan to scrap the body, do not cut out the VIN

Same as above - I cut the plates out; some scrappies um and ahh, because they are worried about ringers and the like. Luckily the guy who runs A4 metal near me knows the score.
You need to retain the number - if you done the donor will be marked as scrapped and you'll hit issues later in the registration process.

Check the paper or yellow pages for people picking up scrap metal I got rid of 7 tubs like that already..They bring a flat tow truck drag it on and go.. Even send me a check 3 day later for weight of body.. Wrecking yards are more picky..

Thanks for the responses guys, I have been following your suggestions, but keep in mind that I live in Maryland, USA so I guess the laws here are a little different.
I bolted the VIN back into place and glued it. Hopefully, the next scrap yard will take it with no issues.

I live in Arkansas never have a problem with scrap metal co. they just crush it.. have you Googled "car scrap metal pickup Maryland".. Take pics of vin and keep the VIN off the dash drill out 2 rivets..
