got the left side rear finally completed. Only had 1 major issue. The bolt at the bottom of the shock stripped in the nut. I had to cut the bolt with a multi tool. The nut was shot as well. I bought a new bolt from Mazda and a lug nut fit.

Finally finshed the rear end today. It's been since the beginning of June to the end of July to take it apart, clean it up, paint it, rebuild the brake calipers, change the seals in the hub and put it back together. next up, clean and paint the PPF, get a engine hosit and pull the transmission, pull the clutch and start on the front end.

I knew the car had clutch trouble when I got it from my brother-in-law, but I didn't expect this. I thought all along it was going to be a bad slave, not the pressure plate

OK, I need some help here.
I am trying to get the power steering rack apart by following the flying miata instructions. I have everything apart as listed but I can't pull the rack out. It sounds like its hitting on something inside.
Has anyone done this yet and experienced this type of issue? Any suggestions?
Ron

Can you post some pictures?
There shouldn't be anything holding it in once you've removed the rod ends, the pinion gear and the stop ring.

Are you sure you want to wrap the exhaust tubes..They will rust out easier that way..

Why is that, and would the risk be the same in a sonic?

Exhaust wrap isn't waterproof - generally, it actually holds water - so it's like strapping a wet rag to any piece of steel, ultimately you'll get rust. And probably more rust than you'd get otherwise.
If you use high-temp paint on the exhaust first *then* wrap it once that dries it mitigates the problem quite a bit....

Should add - DO NOT use the spray-on silicon sealer stuff for the wrap; it sounds like a good idea but it causes more problems than it solves.
