Can you just clear the code right before the test? They usually don't come right back on. I was just using my iPhone and a cheap WiFi module to read and clear the codes my car was throwing for the Cat and the EGR system. Would take 20 or so miles before they came back.

That's one thing I am worried about. No doubt mine will have a CEL, since none of the emissions stuff exists, including the first cat. My plan is to disable the light. I will hide the OBD2 port just in case. What port??? the harness never had one. Is your car a 95? They didn't start with that port until 96.

That technique doesn't work. OBDII includes Readiness Flags. In the 20 miles you describe between ECU reset and CEL return, the Readiness Flags are off, and you will fail emissions. I learned this the hard way when I tried the exact same technique...

The good news is that in California they just check emissions for the way in which you register a kit car.

Geoff,
Do you have more pics around how you mounted the hand brake, and how you routed the cables to you calipers?

I don't have any, but when I get a chance I'll post up a few.

What I did to install the parking brake: assembled everything to mark the holes on the transmission tunnel (do not forget to move the adjustment screw on the lever to the center to be able to make any adjustments later) drilled holes for these rivet nuts www.ebay.com/itm/191406277110 installed them using this technique put metal spacers between the lever and the tunnel (don't remember their specs, sorry) to securely bolt the lever to the tunnel I had to drill a hole in the transmission tunnel for the right caliper's cable as it is too short to use the original hole used rubber grommets from OSH to protect the cables from the sharp edges and for aesthetic purposes: I made one more hole for the parking brake sensor wire later.

That reminds me. FM now sells their little big brake kit with NC parking brake cables. I don't yet know what this means for cable length but found that interesting. We will see when I get it if a second hole will be needed.

So my BAR appointment is set for 7am on Nov 25th. This is the last step in the process. I'm told by Kevin at Exomotive that my bodywork will be here in time to install before the appointment. Can't wait to finalize everything. I am under the assumption that my bodywork will ship next week. This will give me one weekend to install. FINGERS CROSSED.

I really hope you get your body work in time. Your car turned out great. Best of luck.

Did they go with the idea for a single nose/hood piece or was that only a concept idea?

They sure did. The new hood/nose is one piece. I'm hoping that their is enough rigidity in the assembly that I can get away with 4 hood pins (two aerocatches, two quick-latches). Time will tell.
