Oct 2: A big step was accomplished today, the wiring harness was removed. Im not going to lie, this amount of wire freaks me out. Good news is I labeled everything in detail in hopes of putting humpty dumpty back together again. Time will tell. Now on to the pictures: Can't work on cars without something to drink, bourbon and ginger will do the trick: Here is most of the wiring harness, minus a small portion of the ECU and engine bay (more to come on that in a few days) Quick interior shot, notice the lack of wiring! I hope to have everything ready for the body to be removed sometime this weekend.

Oct 5: Got some more work done today. My day started off with a trip to harbor freight to buy this: I now have a way to remove the body from the bits I need! I also removed everything from the engine bay, and removed the steering wheel assembly. Tomorrow the body comes off! Here are a few pics: I made a shopping list today too, will be ordering parts this week. 15" 6ULs tires of some sort lug nuts full bushing kit (Energy Suspension) new front endlinks (949) braided brake lines (supermiata) coilovers (V-Maxx XXtreme coilovers)

Looks good, we started ours practically on the same day but you appear to be a few good steps ahead of me.
Have you ordered your chassis? I'm across the country in NC

I'm across the country in NC I'll race you to see who gets done first!! JK. So far I have 9 hours wrapped up in the project. Now comes the time to remove un-needed items and prep/paint. I haven't decided on what to use yet. I was going to use POR-15 but there is no rust, so I may just paint. I'm thinking rust-oleum hammered metal spray in black. I have ordered my chasis, back on 7/27, I got in on the free Driven steering wheel and wing mount deal. I just moved from SC (greenville) to CA. I went and visited Exomotive and fell in love. The rest is history.

I haven't ordered my chassis yet, don't even have a plan as to exactly when I will. For the time being I'm going to make the running gear as perfect as I can and continue my prep.
Any chance you know Bonnie and Sean in Greenville? They (well, she does really) have a white ls1 swapped NB out there. He drives a single turbo FD.

Well today I cleaned up what I could. I can't be more excite to see this under all the dirt and dust: It looks like this all over with the exception of the a arms. It looks brand new. I also was going through the bushings and they look brand new as well. This Cali weather has treated her good. My wheels and tires showed up as well:

Well guys I need to bring you up to speed. I have done everything needed to get her up and running. I have replaced all fluids. I have also replaced the clutch and flywheel with a FM happy meal. Out with the old: Uploaded with ImageShack.usIn with the new: Uploaded with ImageShack.usSuper easy to do when you have the roller skate expossed: Uploaded with ImageShack.usI also was just informed that my frame was shipping: Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Mine is on the far left. It is powder coated flat black. My plan is to turbo the car once I pass SB100 here in Cali. Because of this I am doing everything needed; clutch, flywheel, radiator, seals, etc. More to come once I get the frame in house and get to work. I also picked up a COT Wing, which are becoming harder and harder to come by: Uploaded with ImageShack.us

22 week lead time... wow. I put my order in mid-December and I still don't have an invoice. They must be slammed with orders. I really doubt I'll be getting mine in the 16 weeks they told me.
Love the COT wing. You managed to get one with flat end plates. I picked up two of them from a guy in NC and they have the curved end plates... came off of Tony Stewarts backup cars so that's pretty cool.
What did you end up using on the a-arms?

The lead time was longer than I expected. And yes Exomotive has been very busy, and rightfully so! Many orders have been flowing in. During my order they moved locations and moved to a larger facility. Because of this they had to wait for permits and what not. With that said I doubt my leadtime will be the same as others. My COT wing came from #43 Aric Almirola's Car of Tomorrow owned by Richard Petty: Uploaded with ImageShack.usAs for the A arms, I painted them in a hammered finish from Rustoleum (from a can and brush). The finish looks like this:

Wow you lads over there really have the luck when it comes to the condition of the donor parts!! Half the work is done compared with what we have to scrub, grind and then scrub and grind again.....
