Cheers John Next will be headlight mounts and a few other bits... Can't see it being powder coated until early next year.. Slow build.

Trident, Loving the back end framework. I'll have to check my light dimensions as soon as I get the driveshafts back in (soon). Tim

Ok been doing some more on the car in the past couple of days… Right at the start of the build I removed the seatbelt mounts from the roll bar as I wanted to fit a harness bar. The bar was made a while ago but I didn't have any harnesses so getting the correct position for the fixings would have been pot luck. Well I've got some harnesses and also ordered some 7/16 UNF 50mm long crush tubes for the bolts to mount into. First though it was time to cut some holes into my nice fibreglass seats. First one was a bit daunting but once i was happy with the shape I made a template out of some hardboard so I could get the remaining three exactly the same shape and size. I'm very pleased with the finished result and really like the shape of the whole. Next was to get the correct position for the mounting and then drill out the holes for the crush tubes making sure they were all in line and vertical. This turned out to be a pig of a job as my whole saws aren't any good for steel as I found out when it had not teeth left as they had been worn down by the tube. Ended up drilling lots of pilot whole and then filling of the hole into a circle big enough for the tubes. Some time later this was the result. Just need to get the tubes welded into the bar making sure that the bolts sit straight when tighten up. Another job off my modification list…. One day I might actually get it powder coated.

Trident,
Very nice update, like the seat cut outs.
What harness have you gone for ?
Also I really recommend a cone cutter for drilling large dia (or small) holes in either sheet or tube material. Tool Station and Screwfix sell them. Nice Christmas present from the misses. One of the best investments I've made.

Cone cutter…. Very good idea as I'm going to have many more holes to cut… Having the correct tools can save a lot of time and effort !!! The harnesses are TRS one's from Kit Parts Direct. They do both the bolt in and clip in and in various colours … Even Orange www.kitpartsdirect.com/section.php/store/95/c1/411/w/TRS_4_Point_HarnessA few more mods still to do and I still need to get the new rear cover made. I'll add an update on that soon.

This is one of the item on ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321230188619This is their website www.carfactorsuk.co.ukOn second order I just phoned them and paid by card over the phone. They made sure I got the correct callipers by getting me to check the lettering on the callipers etc. You need to use and clean up the original carrier etc but I sent back all the old callipers back in one of the boxes that the new ones came in. No issues with the refund for the returned items either.

For recon calipers give Anthony at Autolink a shout. They will sort them on an exchange basis. Very quick turn around and calipers are like new. Tell him Stewart from FreakyParts sent you and he'll probably knock a couple more $$ off
