Great thread with some interesting ideas for the future , me being at the beginning of the build and not afraid to steal others ideas!! At least I am building now. Far more fun!
What colour scheme you going for? Going with silver?

Need some advice… My floor seatbelt mounting points are flush on the top. Once I fit the floor i will have a void between this bracket and the floor it's self. Has this been place in the wrong position and it should in fact be in contact with the floor when it's fitted. Thanks in advance..

Hi
This is the same as the Sonic7. The nut that holds the seatbelt sits between the floor and bracket on the frame. Then the bolt goes down through the seat belt bracket and the bracket on the frame into the nut. Hope this helps

Thanks. Might be that it is just on the MK2 . There a silver cover under the tank , which might have been used to mount the tank in the car...

Thanks, much appreciated... I can see your tank doesn't have the cover underneath . I removed mine anyway.

So having seen NITRAM's car at Southampton VOSA for it's IVA test and having spoken to the examiner at the same time it became apparent that if I wanted a first time pass I would need to add some kind of in fill to prevent the examiner getting his 100mm ball 200mm into the engine bay and contacting sharp bits. I first looked to fully enclose the side engine bay openings but found it difficult to get a nice shape around the brake servo. My solution was to make a smaller panel. As long as the ball can't enter the engine bay then there is no need to have it fully enclosed. I used the perforated steel that I was planning on using for the side passenger panels. Bent it into a curve shape to suit the area it was in filling and attached it with some bits of tubing I had left over from some of the kitchen drawers that I didn't use when I fitted our new kitchen units earlier this year. Glad I never threw them away now….. I just flattened the ends down so that I could have a decent surface to bolt through. I've not fitted them in properly at the moment. I'll do this when I remove the chassis. That way I'll have more space without the engine getting in the way, especially on the drivers side. Obviously the perforated steel will have some edge trim added once it's all powder coated. Not sure at the moment if I get them done sliver or black. Just need to do the drivers side but at least it's another small job almost done.

Yep nice one as long as the examiners ball does not enter then he cant fail you. Never thought of partially covering this area. I think we all need to do what Nitram did and make up one of these 100 mm dia prodding balls.
