Hi, in the spirit of trying to keep up some momentum. Spent Friday night melting bushes out you the wishbones. Very messy. So a limited amount of time on Sunday saw us playing with bits of the suspension. Can't say to much at the moment, however a bit of fabrication involved. The boy did well. Also a bit of a clue to our colour scheme. Hopefully pick up the shot blasted sub frames in the week

Chris glad the roof works for you! As you know my Donor was BRG, I have most of the panels (not the wings) so let me know if you need anything.

Good question. Like you I ordered some "pure orange" paint from eBay. Have only spot dried it on the lid but looks more red than orange. A real disappointment. I'm a great fan of hammerite smooth paint. So while in Halfords found that they sell a aerosol enamel spray paint called "warehouse orange". What's interesting is it quotes a RAL 2003 number. I'm hoping this is the same as the orange MEV use for there body panels and I can match with powder coating? Tin of paint I also applied the white enamel primer which Halfords sell first as a base coat. In terms of results it's still not as bright an orange as the sample colour on the tin. It's only had one coat so may deepen when I give it a second coating. This picture may show the difference. Hope this helps.

It is a nice orange! But will it take well to heat? Can you paint the brakes with it?

I used halfords red enamel high temperature paint on a lot of my stuff. Found the spray didnt give a deep enough red so went for the pot and brush, did my rocker cover in it and it seems to be withstanding the temp okay.

The tin doesn't state it's high temperature. Although in my experience providing the surface is well prep'd and clean enamel does a pretty good job of standing up to engine block temperatures. So hopefully the stub axles should be ok. I can't see these get to hot. I also found he following web site www.rawlinspaints.com/Metal-Easy-Maintenance-Paint/c1_15/p1186/Teamac-Metalcote-Plant-Enamel/product_info.htmlThey sell an enamel which can be used on tractors and marine applications. It can be mixed in most of the RAL colours so I may give his a go. Only £15 for a litre.

Can I be the first one to say 'I think it's Christmas' I base this statement not on the fact that its cold enought to freeze the soft bits off Brass Monkeys! But I think Father Christmas must have paid a visit to my garage! Nice shinny bits have arrived On a serious note, chuffed to bits, hopefully front wishbones will be ready next week. Just hope Santa (Freaky Parts) has some good news on the poly bushes before chrimbo! Fingers crossed.

I'm off to Swansea on Saturday to pick up number two son for Christmas. It would be good to meet up in the new year when I take him back and see the JPS in the flesh.
