Looking very good, love the weights. Its the cleaning and painting that takes up so much time!!!! If you know where to get new nuts and bolts at good prices then please share. Cheers, John.

I work in a garage so we buy consumables from a company called FST, i can buy these off him at a good price also. I was chuffed with the idea of using the weights to move the body and even move so when it actually worked perfectly As for cleaning and painting, Im going to refurb parts as i start rebuilding as theres no point cleaning and painting for them to get scuffed up just sitting around, so i plan on refurbing the parts as and when i need to refit them, this way it saves doing them twice.

Hi Craig,
You not trying to sell much of your donor? Just in your photos you have a pile for the scrap man and a pile for the skip. I notice on ebay the prices for stuff has dropped to scrap levels but a lot of the small stuff still gets good prices. Especially if your donor was standard. I've had people asking about the strangest of things.

Looks like an Acewell 3701 with a different name on it. Good job getting it free!

Yes its an acewell but from a honda gas gas hence the GG on thr front, i got it with the speed sensor which is a magnet which goes on the prop shaft or driveshaft, rpm is taken from a wire which you just wrap around a plug lead.
As its from a bike i searched all day yesterday through the acewell wiring diagrams to find out which are the powers etc im not completely sure what its got in terms of functions as i hasnt been powered up yet and that lad i got it from said its off one of this old bikes as from the last few years they stopped putting them on.
Ill post up some pictures when i get it powered up, im thinking of using the mx5 clocks as a holder but modifying it with this inside and some other gauges needed when i fit my supercharger.

After having my last bits delivered and telling myself i have everything you go and post up a pic of that digi dash! I want one of those now!
Ive had a quick google and there seems to be quite a few options model wise. Are there IVA requirements with these?

Unsure on IVA requirements as of yet but I assume if it reads the speed accurately then it will be fine.

Well update time again... My parts have now shot blasted, acid dipped and e coated then baked off. I picked them up today and then went and dropped them off to be powder coated. All being well I will be collecting all my parts on friday evening Here's a taster I'm very happy with them but will be even better when they get powder coated. Whilst ive been waiting I've been having a play with my newly aquired digi dash which i plan on fitting. I worked out the wiring diagram and managed to find it is a acewell 3701 model. There are different variants depending on spec. The main unit has: digital speed, bar rev counter, digital rev counter, mileage, trip meter, max speed, average speed, 12/24 hour clock, driving time, total time, however no fuel gauge. Here it is after i worked out the wiring It is brand new showing 0 miles on the clock I decided last night i had some free time so decided to sacrifice one of my spare instruments and have a play ill let the pictures do the talking ... Now I'm unsure on which gauges to use or the position of them at the moment so any ideas would be great, basically i have the standard 3 gauges fuel, coolant temp and oil pressure, and also have 3 smoked/blue led gauges volt meter, boost pressure and air/fuel ratio. I plan on using the mx5 centre console trim which houses the 2 air vents heater controls radio etc so was thinking of using the 2 vents to put some gauges in and also make a panel to go where the heater controls were. Im thinking maybe leave the dash with just the acewell unit and the warning lights needed. (i plan on making cut outs on the panel i make and mounting the standard warning pictures with bulbs behind them, its either that or buy led bulbs and mount them as my warning lights with stickers to say what they are for.)

Hey craig
Like the digi dials and the boost bits - for what its worth i would drop the MX5 coul and go for some gauge pods available from CBS etc - the reason being that the coul is a bustard to form nicely to the back of the bonnet - we all stick with it because we are going with the original consul - one of my post Iva tweaks is to loose this and go down the pods mounted on the dash cross beam.

Cheers for the advice, this was just an idea whilst i was bored waiting for the suspension parts, it will probably be put in a box under the workshop bench now as i get on over the weekend fitting the polybushes and starting building up the suspension components.

Nise work like the idea.. How about keeping your layout with the 3 units but replace the fuel and water temp with Autometer units.. and adding another warning lamp for loose of oil pressure.. thats all the oil gage is on 95 and later miatas on/off reading. Maybe between the sq warning lamps alittle larger and brighter led lamp..
