So a but of an update. Nothing. I have looked for the ignitor box but I cannot see on. I have also been through the photos of the dismantle of the car and there is not on where there should. Mine is a 1.8 and I have traced the yellow blue wire to the coil pack but did not manage to do a resistance check.

Also forgot to mention that I am not sure that the fuel gauge is working. It's sat on 1/8 tank and does not budge when you turn on the ignition.

Well I had a good go at it yesterday with no success.
The yellow blue wire does not go near the instrument cluster on my car. It goes straight from the coil pack to the ecu. There are 2 blue with yellow stripe wires coming from the tachometer side.
One thing I did also notice is the dash does no illuminate when you turn the lights on. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but it might???
Electronics is not my forte. So again any help would be appreciated. I did do a check on the yellow blue wire and that is fine. I have also checked the meter fuse which runs the instrument cluster (or so I have been told) and this is also fine.
Mine is a 1.8 so it does not have the ignitor box.

I just took the Exocet out for a blast. All dials were working before setting off around the block but on my return i noticed all the dials had died They still illuminate when the lights are on but no dials.

Sounds like a fuse to me. There is a 10a fuse labeled "meter". See if the has gone. If so it sounds like a grounding problem.

Checked all the fuses. There was a 15amp fuse in the 'meter' socket so switched it over to a 10amp, still no joy. Checked all earths and they are all fine

Just throwing ideas out there, all the connectors are pushed in and "clicked" I had a massive dumb moment yesterday when all of a sudden all my electrics stopped working and it was just the main fuse box connector had vibrated loose as I hadn't "clicked" it in properly

Where would be a good place to fix the earth for the cluster? (Im assuming its part of the multiple earth closest to the cluster)

I had three on my donor which were connected to the cluster. There was 1 main multi earth and 2 single earths on the passenger side and drivers side doors which I grounded to the frame.

Im trying to get as much info collected this evening so im prepared as much as possible when im working on the car tomorrow. So far ive got the wire diagram sorted and im going to trace back each wire from the cluster to make she they go where they are meant to go and are in good condition. As for the earths, please correct me on my positioning of them if needs be, ive got... -1 multiple earth on the mev frame/chassis on the passenger side near the front suspension mount. -1 multiple earth on the mev frame/chassis in front of the driver, directly above the pedals. -1 multiple earth on the mev frame/chassis at the rear on the passenger side adjacent to the fuel tank -The earth off the battery i have fixed to the Mev frame/chassis behind the passenger seat -A single earth at the rear, off the lights, attached to the mev frame/chassis -A single earth off the hazard switch fixed to the mev frame/chassis on the passenger side at the front -A single earth fixed to the mev frame/chassis just behine the position of the drivers side headlight. Apologies for sounding like a complete a novice, electrics were never my strong point, but i really want to get this sorted tomorrow.

I would run an earth cable from battery wire you have to the pass seat also to the PPF as it is on an OEM car at the rear of PPF there is a bolt hole.. Also put the ground strap from the engine to the chassic by the exhaust as on OEM cofig.. B/Y is hot to the meters and B to earth in the long connectors on the cluster.. Check your grounds with an OHM meter..

Going back to my earlier post. Tachometer and dash lights? Would these not working be due due to the same issue?
