Caravan nearly finished, the very last bits of fur to fit, some electrics, but basically, its ready to move tomorrow to my lockup so I can finally crack on and get the green beast ready for Blyton in a little over 2 weeks I have enjoyed making the caravan for my trike to tow. Checkout my big ass badges Kevin bent me up a better looking towing arm, I needed to modify it to make it sit further back, its done, it fits, it looks well, it will be going to Powder Coat on Monday

Looking good Nick it sits very low doesn't it so should be quite stable.
Is there enough clearance above the rear wheel ?

Yeah there will be, when bouncing on the rear suspension it doesn't hit the bar. And I don't plan to be driving offroad much :-)
Its not the neatest or cleanest Teardrop I have made, but its defo the nicest shape, and I needed to rush it a lttile to get it out of my garage this weekend to get on with my trike

Morning, I can safely say I never expected to see a MEV Tr1ke towing anything. I would imagine the Tr1ke alone turns heads, but a Tr1ke towing a caravan, will probably be turning heads with jaws on the ground.
Awesome.. simply awesome.
Will you be joining the caravan club?

Will you be joining the caravan club?
I think that'd be a great idea. Maybe we should club together and chip in for Nick's membership! Martin

No, I won't be joining a caravan club ta
My trike tows very well. Its not all about blasting around the country side, and for the very little amount of time I spend at events, I might as well spend the time in comfort and off the floor.
Next job is replacing all those crappy Silicone hoses I fitted in 2011, because for reason or another they just weap fluid out, cannot tighten them enough, I already replaced the entire length of Oil Cooler feed with one pipe, because it was leaking, I think I have decided to just replace the main feed from the thermostat to the Rad, because it passes through a 25mm temp sender adaptor, and it leaks.....
If I feel it has fixed it, I may indeed replace the water pump side too.
Trike getting ready for these fixes this coming week now my caravan is out of my garage.
Rear section of floor under tank now re-rivetted, Trackday exhaust fitted for Blyton in a little over two weeks now (Assuming my coolant issue is resolved)
Need to fix this coolant thing, because its starting to get me down now. Need to move my reverse battery over to where my main battery is for weight balancing.
Total cost of silicone hoses was about £100
Total cost of rubber hoses will be maybe £70 for all main hoses.

I have just ordered 2 x 90 degree 25MM ID hoses ad a 1Mtr length of 25MM ID straight
That will fix the right hand side issue at the rear. Then I will try and bleed the system, if leaking still occurs I shall replace the entire setup of coolant hoses,

And so it begins. The Coolant overhaul replacing awful leaky Silicone hoses with new reliable rubber hoses. Found a leaking 5mm bypass hose with a split in. Cut that and joined it up with inline hose connection. Replaced upper thermostat hose which was a pain. It's always a pain that one and rubber hoses have much less give than Silicone ones. Maybe thus is a good thing. Decided I will replace the entire section front to back on this side. Removed the firewall and seats getting ready to removal centre and upper tunnel, will then remove nosecone and remove the entire section at the front. I hope at that stage that I can seal up the coolant system and refill and bleed it through. Expansion bottle also ready to install.

Do you think the 5mm pipe could be the cause of your coolant issues Nick.

It was the pipe just forward of the reverse. The upper small pipe. It has a burn mark on it. Suggesting it's been in close proximity to the exhaust. I pushed the pipe and it split. I don't think this is the cause. I believe the pipe work coming from the thermostat via multiple points is the cause. Come Saturday I will be well on with fixing the leak on that side. If it persist. I shall replace the other feed pipes. Have removed all parts of gear shift for powder coat and will be taking my towing arm as well. I won't need you this weekend. I'm hoping to also get Tuesday and Wednesday off next week to either finish the jobs or continue some jobs.

Jobs achieved today were:
Coolant bled and hopefully no leaks now after replacing the entire rear section of coolant silicone crap with rubber.
Hose clips securing 6mm overflow pipe
Battery Volts LED gauge fitted and tested against Glowshift. Found that Glowshift reported a dip of 3 volts with dip beam on, LED gauge stayed on full. Found stator to be charging when revving looking at the brightness on headlights. Found stator to be charging on full beam. Decided that these very expensive American Glowshift should be re-badged to Glownuts.... I only have 1 gauge remaining now from my original purchase of 4 Glowshift gauges. I suspect when I find a suitable UK LED gauge for Water, this will also be replaced.
I initially moved the reverse battery to where the main battery is, but found it would be almost impossible to secure both without shorting one against the bracket, so I have moved the reverse battery back behind my seat.
Just seats to fit on Tuesday on my day off, along with the gear change bracket ready and waiting at PowderCoat.
Just got to ring Need2Insure on Monday to get new insurance on my TR1KE and then it's all good for a test drive hopefully Tuesday afternoon.
Feel I really got somewhere again today, and hopefully I can get some miles covered this year due to just 1 KitCar show I am attending, I hope to be attending the VOSA Rejects Rally in August finally.
And I am at Blyton 2 weeks tomorrow so that should be a great deal of fun with Kevin and a selection of others :-)

Trike finished for now, No coolant leaks, header tank same level this morning after topping up last night, another 10 min tick over check today to see how stable temp was getting. After cooled down header tank same level. Trike back together, I await a nice evening for a drive out, or I look forward to a possible nice Saturday or Sunday this weekend. Decided to recover the exhaust Was bored of the fake carbon covering.

Floor to recover after Blyton to cover all the errors made in various mount positions, but the ear lever system is now clean and powder coated and works better than all the other ones I setup
