How are you getting on@doubletrouble? Issue still occurring for you? I’ve not pulled the trigger but ME have 10% off on the ME221 at the moment for Black Friday so possibly pull the trigger. I think my issue is immobiliser and I believe the me221 will get around that Im going to do some investigations this weekend focusing on the injectors. Think they are being shut off. Might be dodgy wiring from afm. Still might bite the bullet and get an ME. A second hand one for my uer went for £420 on Ebay.... bot willing to go that high fir a used one!

Did you buy a new 2nd AFM or used one?
I had same condition on my MX5 and new AFM sorted it.
Could you borrow one from someone with a running car to rule it out.

I pulled the trigger on an me221 today (10% off), that will get past the immobiliser issue. I’ll let you know if it fixes it for me There is an me221 on eBay for your year just now but it is steep for second hand. £90 more gets you a new warranties version from ME

So.. had a good dig today. Engine does not run so long when the afm disconnected. Power to the injectors is maintained they just turn off after 2 seconds. Think its time for a ME221

Think its time for a ME221 Just for the benefit of everyone, I had the exact same issue and after putting in an me221 it started up fine. Needed a bit of throttle and sounds like it’s running a bit rough on the map but it’s actually running now so that’s a win. For me must have been immobiliser, good luck on yours!

Sooo its alive! Got me a Me221 today and after a couple of hours i have a runner. The me221 is not yet turning the pump on but thats a minor in my book.

great news, ME221 powers a relay for the pump, it will not switch the pump load. You can check now to see which item is not used to power the car up via ME221, then we will know what your issue was.

Hi Stuart. The pump is switched on by a relay. The ME is not switching this and I have to short FP and GND. Might be a setting in Meiti to fix. I still beleive the immobiliser is thw cause of my problem with the standard ecu.
