Hi Guys, been thinking about how to make the rear end look better......always expect a punch from the missus when i start a sentence like that..... i wanted to keep the mev theme and thought of 2 into 1 does go... so here is the template of the EXOROCKET rear end. ok ok dont laugh, but chrome or black will change the look alot, it can be rivnuted to the top frame and attached at the base to the rear subframe cross member bolt holes. Will be making a prototype tomorrow and may fill in with some drilled chrome plate

Mine is an 1800 cc and the engine number is stamped between the manifold and the back of the engine on a flat plate which i could only read fully by using a mirror after i wire wooled it with one finger. Mine was an import, and what is usually done with these is that the importer generally puts down the chassis number as the engine number...as was mine...i just sent the logbook off as change of engine, came back sorted.

Hi Guys, well its showtime again, me and her that must be obeyed will be camping in the mev paddock area again this year, pop over and say hello will be nice to put faces to names. Sadly i'm about 30 hours from completion on the build and would have loved to have got it over there this weekend, but beer will be taken instead.
Have fun.

2gether insurance are a great bunch of guys, £152.00 for the year fully comp with all the other additions included and 5000 mile pa. They understand kit cars and the whole job took about 20 mins on the phone even though the iva isn't through yet.

The battery would almost certainly be covered under the short circuit rule, as not being covered would leave it vunerable. In a normal position on a car it would be covered by the bonnet.

Aaaah Red i remember your troubles well !!! Seriously though if you feel confident enough it does make a difference to how you route your wires if you cut and shut, take a look at my build and you will see how much you can loose, i think theres a pic of the offcuts on there somewhere.

Congrats on the start up, i think everyone has had a cheer when they first hook up and turn the key, what you have to do next is where the probs start. Remove all unwanted wires, elec windows, mirrors, light motors, central locking, heated screen etc etc, ooh and then shorten the rest by about 1 metre. There are plenty of threds on here to help, good luck.

Hi Red, mine to was a cat c write off, luckily i managed to take it by trailor to vosa at Derby. As long as you can drive it under its own power into their inspection shed, they will check that it is the same car the previous owner wrote off... as in chassis number.... you can remove it out the shed with trailor after inspection. They will then give you a bill for £49 and authorise a logbook to be sent with your details on it, mine does state previous cat c and date of vic inspection on it, however the new one after iva will not. This does not help anyone that are already part way through their build but it may help others that might otherwise turn away from a body only write off.

Mine is a 94 donor and it also had the black box and dash led, all operated from the key fob. I just shortened the wires and left it fitted, works a treat and it will help towards the all important insurance quote

All the nightshift brings in is drinking enough beer to stack the empty glasses on the table pyramid style, first table to reach the ceiling wins, also music so loud that you learn sign language in three hours, you actually get to be a caveman when you drag your missus behind you by the hair as she's to drunk to walk.... last year she tried to get back on her own legs but fell in the biggest puddle on site so decided to do her dying duck impression.... so don't be put off by staying over, just remember that you dont get to the tent till about 2am and the someone comes round with a beer and another party starts.
