That's good and bad. Rates should go up substantially for transport but chassis should not be harmed anymore. Maybe that will be offset by no longer needing a $300 UPS-proof pallet?

Even if that is true, it will still be more economical to have your chassis coated locally. Stewart will charge over 2k to deliver to us west coasters most likely.
Post some pictures of chassis 100 when you get it. Don't forget to sit in it and make the vroom vroom noise before you put it all together.

Wishing I order my kit with no powder so that I could have fabricated window net mounts, welded seat mounting and a few other things before starting my build.

Amazing customer service today picking up the chassis from Exomotive. Everything has been smooth except a tire blowout at 1:30am near Shreveport. Also ended up grabbing another set of the holeshots in bronze. Now the real fun begins, 12 hour ride back to Dallas.

I am asking around a few build threads, did you keep any of the vin tags or stickers off of the body?

Hopefully you didn't run out of gas like we did lol. Luckily we never ran out of gas. We did however have a tire blow out and tear up the bed at 75 mph near the Louisiana border at 1:30AM.

I am asking around a few build threads, did you keep any of the vin tags or stickers off of the body? Left the VIN alone that was on the transmission and front subframe. Removed and kept the VIN from the dashboard before I sold it.

I think that it has been decided that you should not remove the VIN tags in the US. VIN tampering carries some stiff penaltys. In Alabama scrap yards will not take a tub if the VIN is not attached. You also have to have the title or bill of sale to scrap a car here.

In my case, VIN tags are still on engine block and transmission (of course). I also kept the VIN tag that was riveted to the plastic dashboard cover (the one you see through the windshield) as I threw that in the trash anyway, but left the stamped in VIN number on the shell firewall. That was a good call, as the scrap yard looked for that right away. If I had cut it out, I suspect they would not have taken my shell.

Dog was not injured in the taking of this picture. I don't have many pictures yet of updates because I've been busting ass on the thing and I don't like messing with the camera while I've got my dirty gloves on, but I'll try to take a few today. Here's a list of things I've completed. 1. Fully prepped the chassis, applied 3x layers of the KBS Rust Seal (recommendation for boats or heavy use machinery), and applied the blacktop UV resistant topcoat. I will say, this product is extremely durable to scratches and I can guarantee my chassis will NEVER rust. The thing I am disappointed with is the finish. I have some ideas to address this and will post during later updates. 2. Mating the Exocet to the subframes was extremely easy and needed only minor coaxing of the front to line up every hole. Very surprised as the car was in an accident and the driver side UCA bolt was slightly bent (and replaced with new OEM mazda). Control arms on the L side are all new. 3. Finished the front wheel bearings, ARP extended studs, and brakes. 4. Replaced the clutch hydraulics and installed extended braided line. Pedals and spacers to stiffen installed easily. Throttle cable installed and adjusted. 5. Took a look at the steering rack and it does contact the header. I ordered a set of engine lift plates from GarageStar and I'm hoping they will be enough to resolve the slight rub. 6. New tunnel has enough clearance for the header flange and gas pedal has plenty of room for 100% travel. 7. Purchased spacing for fuel tank and I'll post pictures of all the components later today. 8. Bulkheads installed and rivted into place. Here's one not so up to date picture (like two days old lol)

Yes I'm glad I sold the black ones and picked up the bronze set. I'm anticipating they will look very good with my color scheme. Finished installing and mounting the radiator mounts and radiator today. I'm just happy to be making steady progress every single day and haven't hit any snags as of yet. Going to try to finish the fuel and brake lines this weekend and possibly have a first start of the engine.
