Finally took the plunge into picking up a donor and buying my kit after drooling over MEV LTD kits for a few years now. Purchased my 107k mile 1999 MX-5 Hard S donor and Exomotive Exocet chassis #100 in August. Picked up my donor for $1250 and decided on a Sport kit with a few options and no powdercoating. My goals with the car are simple...A reliable and lightweight track car that I can comfortably drive to work on sunny days (private garage at work ). Pictures from the day I picked up my donor. Made a few bucks after removing the carpet lol

As the tear down neared it's completion, the fun part began...buying parts! 4x Traklite Holeshot in 15x8 +0 Ultrashield Rally Sport seats Solid delrin and Ronin Engineering motor mounts (Starting with the delrin ones as long as they don't rattle my teeth out) V-Maxx Classics Shifter rebuild kit Clutch hydraulics kit (Clutch slave, master, SS line) Energy Suspension differential bushings Eibach 27mm FSB Exedy Stage 1 clutch F1 11.7lb Flywheel Goodridge SS Lines Hawk Performance Street Race pads Personal Pole Position steering wheel NRG V2 Quick Release CX Racing 2" core radiator Worst part so far has been replacing the differential bushings, as I did not realize until hours later that they fall out fairly easily upon busting the metal seal. Timing belt and water pump looked fairly new upon removal but finished the replacement as insurance. Waiting on my clutch to arrive ATM but the original clutch looked to be in fairly decent shape. Also, in the process of painting the calipers black and replacing as much hardware as I can along the way. Luckily the car had no visible rust anywhere and most bolts are being removed without too much difficulty. Definitely not fun Also recently had a chance to check out two local Exocet builds. First is a budget base kit build and second a really well put together sport kit with a modified MSM motor. Got a few tips for once my kit comes in and really starting to anticipate my ship date of later this month.

Christmas came a little early. Exedy stage 1 clutch and transmission seal kit came in today. Flywheel should be here Thursday and I'll have a busy weekend putting it all back together. Replacing this (OEM 107k mile clutch/flywheel) With this

What part of Texas?
I would recommend bring it out to NASA events. I don't know what your skill level is but I am the lead instructor for HPDE1/2 and will be running my Exo in TT3 for time attack / ST3 for wheel to wheel this year. I recommend throwing away the street pad and getting a Hawk dtc30 or 60. Even with a light car the hps and hp+ pads over heat in the summer. Dtc 30 are nicer on the street do to them having a less aggressive bite but the 60s are my favorite and have worked the best for everyone I know.

Any idea on your chassis completion date? I am #110, and am trying to gauge my possible completion date (w/out powder coat). Talked to Taylor at Exo today, and think your #100 is being completed now (but please don't hold me to that)!
Also curious what seat that is on the wall in your garage.

Great seat. I am using 2 of the same model. I was able to fit the 17's without any problems. mounted it to 1" square stock rails.

I think that Luke from WV is picking his frame up on Friday, He is #98.
