Looking forward to finalising this car. Very close now, chassis' are in production, it's looking great now with it's tweeked styling but I can't see it being easy to use different power plants apart from a rotary from an RX7. These units bolt to the MX5 box, now that could be fun.

Any chance of more pics? Or even a guestimate of performance over 0-60 with the standard mx5 engines?
Very excited about this car and want any info I can get! Cheers

Did i read wrong when i saw there was 2 body style choices? Will there be an option to get rid of the nose cone. I enjoy the angular features of the Sonic and Rocket why change design from that feature to make it look more like a 7? Locosts are fun but I don't want one and the main reason is the front end. Attaching any front end areo would almost be impossible on a front end like that. Every attempt i have seen on a Locost 7 looks so tragic. Function over form i know. The rest of the car looks perfect. Breathtaking, I would want one But...........change the front clip.

These units bolt to the MX5 box, now that could be fun. this does look interesting to me (got lots of experience on the MX5 as the GF is on her second) i believe Mazdas own techs fitted a couple of test cars with the ford 3.0 duratec V6 and they use the gen 3 RX7 gearbox plus you also have the option of a V8 via Monster Miata (they do Ford and Chevy V8 conversion kit in the states for the Miata/MX5) plus a few chaps over on MX5nutz have developed a conversion using the Mini M45 supercharger and released the plans so you can make your own plenty of options for more power if needed some better pics would be nice may have to change my saving for a sonic to saving for an Exocet

I have seen the monster miata's with the V8's they are some tyre eating beasts. If you move in that direction some wider rubber in the back would be a necessity. Still the thought has crossed my mind. If any one can drop a small block v8 then the chances of modifying a sr20det (or may be Rb26dett) to squeeze under the Exocet/Miata's bonnet would be a real option. (still wish the front wasn't so ugly LOL) It is a genius concept. Take a car that has years of race pedigree and countless suspension settings, strip it down, reattach lightened body, Win. Even my brother the septic likes it. Any thing that is possible in the mx5 chassis will be in-limits for the Exocet

Forgive me if I have missed some information regarding this, but what are the major differences between the two body styles? I have had limited access to this forum and the MEV website recently and as a result I have become confused. Are both body styles currently on the vehicle (i.e. pictures of each) or has only the one style above been finished? Thanks, and again, I apologize if I have missed any information.
