I have tried attaching the braided clutch line from exomotive, and it doesn't fit. The elbow on the line is pushing against the frame. I have the stock 99 clutch matter cylinder. Has anyone run into this, and how did you get around it? Yes, I had the same problem. you need to get a banjo adapter to make it clear the frame. Kevin from Exomotive knows about the clearance problem and has the banjo fitting available. adapter to fix the issue.

Thank you John. I have reached out to Kevin. My panels are ready and will be shipping soon. Hopefully Kevin can include the adapter in that shipment.

So big milestone this weekend. I have dropped the frame on the chassis. Three friends came over, and it was a piece of cake. Other then one bolt, everything else lined up nicely. Seeing this has reinvigorated me, I have not see the end. Still a lot of things left to do, but it looks like a car now . I have not tightened any bolts yet, as I wanted to see the clearances between the subframes and the cage. Now that I see how much space I have to work with, I have a better idea on how to best run the brake lines and the harness. Next time I am at the garage, my plan is to lift the frame on jack stands, and finish running everything along the the PPF. As far as the gas tank, how much to lift it? I plan to use the PVC as the spacers, so I need need to know how long I need to cut it.

You don't need much. I used 1/2" threaded rod couplers. I think they are 1.5" long.

I'd make them long, a lot of people have complained of fuel starvation in hard left handers due to the lower angle vs. stock. If it's too tall and hits the rear cover, you can always cut them down.

Just mounted my tank this weekend using ~ 5" long "full thread" bolts. As it sits now, I have the front of the tank approx. 1" up on the bolts (i.e. that much thread showing between the frame and the tank), and the rear ~ 3.5" up on the bolts back there. My donor is a 1991, so your tank may / may not be different from what I have. From all this, it looks like there are a number of convenient spots to mount the fuel filter below the tank / on top of the chassis. I'm using a combination of hard lines and "fuel injection rated" rubber lines for my system, though.

Thanks everyone. My donor is 99, so should be close to Brandon's. I'll start with 1.5in and go from there.

I'm planning to reuse the original NB radiator fans. Do I need both of them? I remember reading somewhere that only one if them was controlled by the thermostat.

One is controlled by the t-stat, the other by the AC system. It's not uncommon to 'link' both together so they both run off the t-stat, which is what I plan on doing. Reading Miate.net poste, it seems like there are MANY opinions on how best to do this, but to me, a separate relay to power fan #2 has to be part of the equation.

You need to make a jumper from the thermostat controlled relay and make it feed the other relay signal. So both turn on with the thermostat. Don't try to run both fans on one relay.

I think I got it. I don't have an idea how to do it, but I will read up on it and scrub the miata forums. Thanks.

I used the pipe joint (W023-43-504) and bolt (W023-43-505) from brakes, had to use 2 copper washers though:
