gnc. The ABS pump and lines look very nicely done. I'm also planning on keeping the ABS from my 99 donor. What lines and fittings did you use? What tools did you use for bending and flaring the lines? Is that just wire shrink wrap on the lines or something else? Lastly any chance any of the factory lines could be used as is or with some minor re-bending? Sorry for so many questions but the plumbing and electrical stuff are my weakest areas and the added complexity of the ABS is a big part of it. The ABS pump and flex line mounts are nice touches. Any pictures of the routing of wheel speed sensor cables? Great job on the whole car thanks for sharing.

Hi Zeitgeist,
Firstly, you don't need to apologise for asking questions, we're all here to help if we can. Now, as to the ABS....
1. We purchased new copper brake line and new 10mm brake nuts from a local supplier in the UK. 2. The flaring tool is a handheld unit, plenty are available cheaply on eBay. Just make sure you can do single and double flares with any tool. 3. The lines are indeed covered in heat shrink tubing, if only for a bit of protection. We made all new pipes, none of the originals were suitable and it's really easy to bend the copper. Just take your time and find a few radius handles, jars etc to get the bends right. The heat shrink also helps to stop the pipe kinking.
We haven't done the front sensors yet, these were damaged during the strip and currently at £170 each, they can wait a little while.
If you need any more info or relevant pictures feel free to ask.

Thanks. When you say copper do you mean copper or nickle-copper/Ni-copp ? I don't believe copper is allowed for brake lines in the US. I never thought of using a jar or other round item just thought about what tubing bender. Good idea. Are all the flares double flares or were any bubble flares? Did you use the factory ABS pump bracket to mount it? Where did you decide to mount the ABS computer? I'm interested to hear how your bleeding process works out. I usually bleed the manual 2 person way but that has always been just to get a little air out when changing a caliper or switching to flex lines never with a fresh system from master cyl to each wheel. I found the way to cycle the ABS pump which some found helpful. I'll continue to follow your build and appreciate the photos and info.
