Looking good Ned!
Good pics of the rear bulkhead.....I may have to shamelessly "borrow" that idea!

Sorted out the rear brake lines and handbrake cables, just used some p-clips again but it does look a bit better. . . . Also trying to make a centre console for all the switches. . Nothing much else to report really, putting the last of my focus items on EBAY, got about 13 items still to sell. Won't be posting anything for a few weeks due to work so hopefully will have a lot to show in the new year. Cheers Merry Xmas Ned

Well final push before the excessive drinking and eating commences. lighting kit from RTR turned up so fitted the front lights and DRL's. Thinking of placing the front indicators on top of the front wings, need to check the IVA manual to see if this will be OK. . Then finally got round to putting this beast in. . Didn't think I would manage it on my own, thats why I had left it so long to put in. Couldn't wait anymore, space is tight in my garage and the engine and gearbox were taking up valuable space. So decided to crack on and do it myself, must admit I was a bit worried but it wasn't that bad. An hour or so later and it was in. . I also fitted the new engine mounts which RTR supplied. Slight issue with the gearbox side mounting not lining up but nothing major, also the engine doesn't sit perfectly level, again it needs raised at the gearbox side only slightly but I had thought that the alterations to the MK3 chassis has sorted this out. I used a spirit level ontop of the engine to check for level bubble, it's only 1/4 inch or so off but does anyone think this will affect driving or the drive shafts. . . . RTR S/S manifold fitted and Drive shafts now installed, and gears tested all seems good. Hand brake also works well. Hopefully over the krimbo period I'll sort out the last of the bodywork and dash board build. Things to get on with:- - Fit OMEX ECU and wiring loom. - Fit RTR lighting and wiring loom. - Fit Bonnet and finish of Engine cover now it's in. - Sort out fuel system and get the thing turning and burning. Well thats it for now. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Ned

Hi Ned
I fitted my 1.6l engine in an early chassis and have only now levelled it up after 3 years of read trip and track days. My engine was initially lower on the drivers side and further back too. I was happy with this as my engine bay never was (and still isn't) a show piece. The drive shafts take up a lot of misalignment by sliding in the tripod mounts.
My only drive shaft problem was when the lower engine mount snapped at a track day - details else where on the forum.
So unless any one corrects me, the engine will be fine
Cheers, Happy Christmas
Matt

Great to see so much progress being made.
In respect of driveshafts, the CV joints can run at an angle of 30 degrees so it's not critical that the engine is 100% level. A slightly worn engine or gearbox mount will cause the engine to settle a few degrees either way of level.
Happy Xmas from all at RTR

Thanks Matt and RTR.
Was thinking it over again last night and you guys just helped me to decide. I will leave it as is for the time being. Nowhere near 30 degrees angle. Will crack on and secure the gearbox mount.
Cheers

Hi Guy's
Need some help with the wiring, well really need help to get started.
I have the RTR wiring Loom, the OMEX engine Loom, OMEX ECU and all the wiring from my donor car.
The build guide is a bit vague and seems to reference ECU and transponder pins to be connected to the RTR/MEV loom.
As I have the OMEX ECU do I still need to connect wires to it from the loom.
I need someone that has used or is using the same set up as myself just to give me a starting point. Any diagrams would be a big help.
Cheers
Ned (And a Happy New Year to all)

Firstly Happy New Year, hope everyone had too much to eat and far too much to drink. Started the new year of with finishing off the engine install, all engine mounts secured and fully tightened. Finished of the Engine cover, just waiting for my hinges to arrive. . . Also fitted the belt tensioner back on and the new idle wheel. . . . Fuel hose and Fuel Filler hose also arrived, filler hose came complete with it's certificate, so happy with that. Will double clip it at each end once I have finally fitted the Tank. . All cooling hoses now fitted, just waiting for a few extra hose clamps, mis counted for some reason. Clutch line connected to gearbox and gear cables also fitted. Acc cable also run, on left of picture. . Expansion Tank Done. . And to cap it off, Santa brought some stuff as well, a nice collapsible boss and a sparco steering bracket with buttons just need a sterring wheel now. . Needs some help now, The following items have got me scratching the old grey matter a bit, I took loads of pics when I dismantled everything but between Photo bucket and picasa I can't find anything on these. First Item. What is it, do I need it, if so were does it connect. Second pic is a close up of the connectors . . Second Item is a hose with blue connectors at it's ends, same q's as above. . . And finally, what are these connections for and what fits to them. First one is on the inlet. Second pic is on the top of the engine. . . I'm trying to find these bits in the Haynes manual but it's POO!! So all help welcome. Ned.

Hi Ned, Are the unidentified hoses the original fuel lines that came off the Focus Fuel Pump? I got my fuel pump from a scrappy and seem to remember they had something similar still attached. I've carefully removed the connectors and got longer fuel hose to use them with as I think they are used to connect to the injector rail. ( please somebody correct me if I'm wrong as If I am, I'm about to balls things up on my build ) Glad you asked the question about the unidentified outlets too because I was pondering exactly the same thing over the weekend and currently have no idea whatsoever! Cheers Kevin

Kev
I still have the fuel hoses on the pump, these items are extra, I have also cut the old connectors of the fuel lines and will be using them with my 10mm fuel hose that arrived today just need a new fuel filter.
I'm anoyed that I don't have the pictures of when I took all this stuff off. I think the one with the 2 hoses is a carbon filter not sure still looking.

Not sure if this image helps, you may be able to see that several of the pipes attached to the inlet manifold get capped... I have discarded the "carbon filter" and engine runs fine.

Hi Ned
If you go to Engines & Transmission section & go into hose Identification the photo might help.
