Hi Ned,
These drag links are off a Ford Transit, I believe they are a standard M18 thread. You should find these on eBay as half nuts, I will let you know if I find some.
Regards Jim

Well it's official, It's a sad day for focus spares they are practically worth pennies. . Put this on ebay and it went for 99 pence, quality. At least I don't have to pay to get it lifted. Ned

Well, managed to get some work done today, want to get the steering sorted so I can get it stripped sown and painted, then get the radiator and side panels on. So, I had seen how several other builds have use rose joints to fix the column, i was going to use this method but the lack of welding kit or welding facilities, I decided to go with a more robust industrial method. . . All bolted together nicely, easy to remove if it has to be and the steering feels solid, no jiggly movement, good solid rotation of the column. Just need to cut back all the bolts, strip it down and paint. Slow going at the minute but loving it. Ned

Been a quite few weeks, seem to put bits on then take them back off. Managed to get the front suspension and uprights finished even put some of those plastic covers on the track rod ends. . . . Then moved on to the side panels, bit more to it than first thought but managed in the end with a jigsaw and several blades, just sanded the cleaned prior to sticking the carbon vinyl on, what a joy that was. Finished of with some trim round the exposed edges. Doesn't look to bad for what the stuff cost. . . . . Eventually got round to sticking them on the car to make sure they hadn't warped due to the vinyl on the front and the hammerite on the back. . . . . . So no major issues with the panels, went ahead and fitted the radiator, added some extension bars on the the original chassis ones to bring the radiator out from the front bulkhead to allow the hoses to pass, also made some brackets for the top of the radiator to hold it in place. . So managed some bits and pieces the last few days , moving on to the wilwood pedal assembly, just got some 3/8 unf nuts to drill to lock balance bar in place then fit it along with the nice accelerator pedal that Joker supplied. Also got some nice Venhill brake lines and accelerator cable. . Starting to look more like a car. Ned

Well managed to get the balance bar sorted on the wilwood pedals, what a PITA that was. Hopefully my solution will be ok, there isn't much in the tech section on it so here are some fot's of my attempt. . . . Off the 2 MC's shown in the picture the right hand one is for the rear brakes. I have set the MC threads to the same length to keep the brake pedal in line with the clutch pedal, I then pushed the pedal in to check alignment, so If I'm correct in my setup, it should lock up the rear brakes before the front ones lock. I have set the balance bar as far to that side as I can and still have room for the lock nuts. . Also did a trial run for the radiator pipes, needs a tidy up and some T-Bolt clamps, I've been reliably told that although the pipes don't have a bead on them, the joint between the pipes and hose is sufficiently tight enough that these will work really well. Comments welcome. . . . Hopefully be able to get the front brake lines, Accelerator pedal and Gear selector in over the next few days. Ned

Hi ned looking good coming along well I maybe wrong but your fronts should lock 1st as when you brake the back will be light and lift up off the ground Andy

Thanks Andy.
I was sure that the rear brakes where to lock first, I haven't connected any brake lines yet so it's not an issue but if someone can confirm I would be grateful.
Cheers
Ned.

your locking of the bias bar will satisfy the testers remember to put the warning label on as well before your test.

as far as the hoses go we double clipped the ones you cant get easy access to, like the ones in the tunnel, cost a few pence more but peace of mind. Looking good though.......The two fife rockets are off for a run on Sunday weather permitting..... ;D
