Quick question. Is it ok for IVA if I mount a p clip on the wishbone for the brake line. I mean this in terms of does it create a fail due to structural change rather than pipe routing. I seem to remember (but can’t find) a thread were this was done and commented on? Cheers

I have done this as I remember a similar thread. The pipe is 'held' in place and not 'rubbing' against anything so i think is ok. I cannot find the thread though after multiple searches...
However I am taking some homemade brackets to IVA which I can attach to my next p-clip location in case they dont like the ones on the wishbone.

Finally back and rolling. That was until I read Russ's post about the wheel arch stays. I too have had to now grind through my paint (luckily only hand painted) to make the ABS mount flush with the caliper mount. This is a pain in its self but it now means I have to buy the wheel spacers to get it back rolling which I thought was an expense I could put off. Oh well add the cost to the increasing pile! Stewart at Freaky parts sorted me out and delivered 40mm spacers in just 3 days.

I have been following your build thread as you are also using the same 1.8 2003 mk2.5 model as me. You have saved me lots of searching through other threads and I really appreciate your summaries of various options like the fuel pipes, ABS and charcoal canister.

Making progress on the car but not on my blog updates. Modified steering column to lengthen it which went OK but what have people done with the bearing/cap at the splined end as it does not slide down further due to a circlip on the shaft? I could see no reason for this circlip other than to retain the bearing so I just removed it as the steel end of the bearing/cap was a tight fit into the tube. The bit I am referring too is the round section on the shaft shown in the picture.

I removed the ABS and so a replacement non-ABS master cylinder and proportioning valve fitted (after a re-paint). Pedals all now line up with a lot of trial and error and seem to be OK but no doubt more adjustment as I go. The non abs master cylinder has a different position for the throttle cable bracket which is annoying so need to modify that. I have also filed out the rectangular hole for the throttle cable since this picture.

Wishbones had to be modified to clear the suspension (I am using standard suspension). I need to put the banana brackets on but have to paint first. On re-assembly I realized I also needed to modify the sub frame but it now all runs free. hydroxide molecular formula

Routing all the brake, fuel and clutch lines took some time to keep it simple, supported and clear of moving parts. The braided hoses certainly helped. Just bought a MK1 fuel tank (£10) just a few miles from my house so I can keep going with the rear end hook up.
