Been working on this project for a few years now but I finally got to take it around the block yesterday. It was 35 degrees and raining so it was a short drive. I will update this thread with pictures in the coming days. I was hesitant to start a thread due to my slow progress but now the end is in sight. I have to say that this forum has been the source of many answers already.

Reverse light switch is on the rear of the gearbox, wires are in the harness that runs along the PPF and up to the engine compartment fuse box. I don't know if you are looking at the same wiring manual as I am but the wire colors should be black/yellow - key on power from the meter fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box and red/yellow to the rear lights connector. You should be able to find the wires in one of the connectors under the engine compartment fuse box. Unfortunately I don't have a car to check this on.

what are you guys with a vvt engine doing for your hood mounting, mine sits really high right now. i'm going to leave it high at first, but i'm thinking i may eventually cut out a hole for a hood scoop and fiberglass a fiberglass hood scoop to the front cover to allow clearance of the engine.

Got my headlights mounted this last weekend and it was a pain to get them working. I could not get my high beam to go off, high beam indicator light stayed on also. Ended up running a new circuit for the lows and highs. They are harley davidson led headlights.

Ended up running a new circuit for the lows and highs. They are harley davidson led headlights. If it works, you are probably all set but if it's helpful.... LED lights may require resistors. Also I had a hard time with my high beams. Ended up that in soldering the new connections 2 wires were reversed. Everything works, but the high beam indicator won't. Drove me near mad. Finally swapped the wires, and fixed. Electrical... the plus is the fix is generally cheap.

Got my exhaust fabbed up, ready to weld next weekend, nothing special, cheap straight through muffler from pep boys. I'm down to just needing to mount the hood and then go try and get an inspection sticker.

Got the hood mounted, it was pretty nerve wrecking cutting into it but it ended up looking great, having to run and pickup a couple more hood pins to get it finished this afternoon.

how are you guys getting your cars insured. I am being told no, that anything resembling a dune buggy cannot be insured.

how are you guys getting your cars insured. I am being told no, that anything resembling a dune buggy cannot be insured. I would recommend rally insurance. They need a picture of all 4 sides, interior, engine bay, then will want DL numbers on anybody with access to it, and it needs to be in a locked garage at all times. www.rallyinsurance.com/Mainstream insurance providers won't insure it. Bit of pain. Let us know what you decide and good luck.
