Interesting comments as in the main I have stated that my best option is to alter the Rocket to make the build easier and cheaper. Wasted product ? That is an opinion of someone that has no idea about what is being done. I clearly stated that anyone wishing the original Rocket would be best to go to the existing supplier who I have no intention of trying to compete with. Would I have purchased the equipment if I had a full understanding of what had and is going on? YES. Others do not dictate the time money and effort that has and is being put into the car and the development of the engine that will be used which has now more than proved itself having produced 526 BHP turboed (not that an engine of that BHP will be fitted but it certainly proves the so called experts wrong). The car will not be offered as a road car until it has been proven on the track for which I have 2 orders from customers who a willing to stay the course. The other fact that few are aware of is that Brimoto as I previously indicated DID design a Toyota powered version and offered it along with the manufacturing equipment to me which I decided not to purchase as it would have been to remove yet another "competitor" from the game. As I understand it this has now been offered to the purchaser of one of the other MEV designed cars that was sold on. If people can not understand why I have no desire to produce the original car then maybe a business course would help. To those that continue to offer moral support I thank you. For those that have their own opinion of what has or will be happening you are entitled to your opinion. As a BTW just to let you know I have an original Rocket 3/4 built that will be completed in due course now that many of the problems with the equipment I was sold have been resolved.

Good luck mate ! I wish you all of the success in the world. I believe that you can do it, it's just a pitty that you have had so many problems with the tooling etc which has delayed your product launch. Keep us posted, there are obviously a few people on this forum that has the cash all ready. Out of interest, what is your engine with that much power ? Sounds fun.

Your post sounds quite defensive, I don't think it needs to be. I'm sure you have the full support of the majority of people on this forum, it just sounds like there is a bit of frustration that their is no genuine MEV Rocket for sale as a new kit right now. Take your time, get it right and you will have some customers right here. I wish you luck with the project and please remember the community here will help all they can.

Not defensive at all to be perfectly honest. I could list the problems but that would not do me or the car any good. Jason82 highlights one of the problems in the tooling. Again I could post pictures etc but I prefer to just solve them and move on. As for the engine it is the Rover K series turbo and I am trying to use as many parts as practical from the MGTF to simplify the build as well as bring the build cost down. It would not be a massive problem to offer other engine alternatives but the important part is to get the base car right before offering it for home builds. I do not want to see the problems of previous kits with parts not fitting or out of line etc. I have spent a considerable amount of time and money on this project and feel that comments like "lots of talk and no action, what a waste of a great product" less than encouraging. I am fortunate in having the help of a very experienced Dax Rush builder and driver to help sort the car on track. The bottom line is it will take as long as it needs to and in the we hope will be a worthwhile car and business.

I would be more than happy to see this progress, but in the last 3 years have seen no pictures of any progress.

Jason82 post 131 there is nothing I can disagree with in your comments
A BIG thank you to those that offer support and who may now understand more clearly what is going on. There are a few that keep in touch through PM's who fully understand what is going on and I have done my best to keep it off the pages as there has been enough bad press for the Rocket. I am doing my best to complete an accurate car with comprehensive build manual and if possible a number on which you can contact me for advise once complete. Please understand that low volume tracks cars will be the initial goal to fully sort the car before any road kits will be available. I hope in time there will be a road registered vehicle for people to test drive as well as the possibility of a track car in which a very experienced kit car builder and racer can take you on a track ride but that is very much dependent on his availability and insurance considerations.

Good to see progress is being made, it's now over 3 years since we have seen any pictures of development and it was starting to look like it was dead and just being talked about. Good luck with it. I admire your aim to perfect the product, car builders have varying skill levels and some have been known to struggle with minor tasks but adding manufacturing labour time for detailing work and inevitably increasing costs is not always the best approach. It is incredibly difficult to make a living from kit cars, successful firms start small and very slowly increase production when they can establish steady demand.

Thanks for your comments Stuart. I have no intention of high volume production and as stated want to get it right on track as well as road before anything is offered for sale. Detailing is one thing and consistency of production is another. As I have stated and also spoken to you about in the past my main intention has always been to use a donar car and more of its component parts. This should reduce the cost and make the built easier. With the situation surrounding the original model it makes no sense to offer it up for sale even though we have proved we can make it as the consistency and accuracy is not as good as we would like. Maybe that may change but no point in putting time and money into something that is being produced elsewhere. This for me has always been a chance to 'possibly' earn a living but I have never been under any illusion that was guaranteed. Time will tell.

Just bear in mind that some builder will want to build a virtually brand new car with almost everything new, including hub assemblies etc so if you can make allowances for that too it would be good. When I built my Rocket I only used the rear CV joints, steering column and handbrake lever from a Focus. If I recall you are only allowed 1 major component to be reconditioned (not new) to have a new registration (not an age related plate). Maybe I am wrong but I think that's the case.

Why have my comments been deleted from this thread and others ? It's an independent forum, which only allows one way traffic. I have always given an honest opinion of the product that I have purchased, nothing I have said is manufactured, so why ?

I have always given an honest opinion of the product that I have purchased, nothing I have said is manufactured, so why ? Good question? Why is this happening? You are more than welcome to pm me if your comment or question was for me. As you say I thought it was an independent forum now without censorship. I know some subjects are sensitive and I myself have been questioned/challenged at times but surely that is what the forum is also for people to air their views?

I know some subjects are sensitive and I myself have been questioned/challenged at times but surely that is what the forum is also for people to air their views? Hi mate, it was through my support of you trying to defend you & what you are trying to do against another party. Read back through this thread, you will see where you acknowledged my posts that no longer exists. I have appealed this, & it's in the hand of the main man. I also mention bits that I am un happy with in my kit, that was also deleted. I am not upgrading my thread at the moment in case a manufacturer is unhappy with my honest review of a kit that I have purchased. I put a lot of work & thought into my posts, trying to be as detailed as possible, but I could loose a post that has taken 30 minutes because of 1 word. Please can this be corrected once and for all ? Independent means just that. I would hate for a break away forum to get formed where we can finally be independent ? Isn't this how this forum was formed ? Kpower is a manufacturer, I have asked for him to be adjusted in status to suit, but that post has also been deleted. If a person has genuinely purchased a kit from any manufacturer, spending their hard earned money, they deserve the right to review their kit as they see fit as long as they are not swearing or bullying or even lying. I have always been honest with my kit, & have made suggestions on how things can improve. Just look at my latest thread on the Exocet site, 'what would you like to see if the Exocet had a revision ?'. I fear that this may be seen as being a bully and gets deleted. This post was a bit of fun, maybe some free market research for our manufacturers !
