Tim
Like the atom idea re headlight mounting - youll need to push your indicators forward though so they are visible from the opposite side, have a look at where they are on the atom clearly visible over the top of the nose when viewed from the opposite side at kerb height.
with the IVA in mind you can see how that car has evolved!

So, I could change the headlamp bracket to my original thoughts (a 90 degree bent plate, hole each end, edged). The question would then be, what to do with location for indicators, sidelights & DLRL.

Will you be hacked by IVA for length of threads out of the nut top. does it have to be capped?? Trying to learn your rules.

Not sure, will change just purely on fact that it's 'bad practice' . I did think the cowl covering the bolts wouldn't impact IVA.

Decided how to mount the tool box behind the drivers seat, going with Red Nylon Webbing, yacht bridges, leather eyelets & a padlock... eBay ordering tonight...

Torqued king pins & front brake carriers, then bonded brackets to the fuel tank cover and nose cone. Ground clearance, will definitely need to move the radiator up 50mm... Shorter anti roll bar bolts to be ordered as well...

Just were did you find a MX5 with king pins?? How much room do you have on top of radiator to raise it.. Has anyone added front skids to the nose area to save the nose and rad from high curbs. Like on a Corvette.. Why not add an alum. box to put tool pack in along with gloves test lamp and a soap and rag with a lock.. Make a matching one for other side for cheap rain suit..

King pin, meant upper ball joint.
See pic last page, about 50mm to move rad up. Will end to make 4 new brackets.
I've still got the donor cars tie down straps if I need more storage options, just want to not suffer tool theft if I nip to the shops.
Wheels being powder coat black.
Revised 350mm friendly rear lamp brackets, brake carrier & exhaust bracket painted red.
Seat runner mounts nearly complete.
