Sorry for the lack of posts recently, Ive started a new job and am working like a dog miles away from home for the next few weeks, so progress has all but stopped. Ive managed to squeeze a few bits in when ive had a spare moment of two.
Indicators and mirrors are on, all the lights are fitted, ive also decided to carpet the transmission tunnel and bulkhead as theyve taken a bit of a beating and were starting to look a tad shabby. Ive also put the gear gator and surround on and also my "8 Ball" style gear nob. Also made a center console to hide some of the wiring and hold the hazard switch and carpeted this too. fully fitted the stainless exhaust and back box and also bled the brakes so i took it for a cheeky spin around the block. love it!!
Stiggy, fuel filler looks much better on the side, so i'll live with an 80% tank. and anyway, weight is a killer, so id never put more than £30 worth in it anyway!!
Tim, ive managed to make a bracket to hold the fuel filter onto the lip of the tank. its basically a block of wood with a semi circle cut into the top, so the filter sits on its side in the semi circle and is strapped onto the wood, which is in turn attached to the tank. Im assuming ill have to swap this for metal of some form as i cant see wood being acceptable!
Ill get some more pics up at the weekend. finished early feb i recon!

Alex,
Do you know what diameter whould the handbrake cable mounting holes should be drill out to ?
I want to do as little drilling/filing/reaming after powder coating as possible.

Alex, please have a look at the IVA manual section 12 required standard number 6. There may be an issue with the toggle switches. Sorry to have to point this out but you may need a surround to stop the inspectors 165mm dia ball contacting them. Regards Stiggy

Thanks Stiggy, figured this was the case, so I've made the switch panel interchangeable with a blank board without switches for the test, then I'll swap and wire in the toggle switches once it's passed. I it's an MOT issue as well I'll have to keep swapping in and out! Booking a test soon as it's a few days away from being finished!!

That cam cover looks good in red, but my wife reckons I would paint her red if I could. Both my boys are red, I dont have a problem with that! When do you think you may send her for an iva?

Tim, its all the same shade of red now, cam cover, brake calipers, air flow sensor, diff and air filter. Red on black always looks good! Car should be finished by the end of next week. then its booked in for a tune and timing appt at the local F1 autocenter then ill book an IVA and go for a cancellation to get it roadworthy as soon as possible fingers crossed itll be on the road by the end of march!!

not sure what you mean by the black triangle? there isnt a fanbelt on this one as both fans are electric, the cam belts covered at the top and i think the nose cone stops anyone getting to the crank pulley. Are we supposed to be putting mesh on as a safety measure?? like the look of the fuel cap retainer, much more sightly than my plug chain!

Alex, This black triangle... I'll ask Stuart on the need for engine bay mesh. Tim
