Will you be painting or powdercoating the chassis? Powdercoating for sure. We have a great company not far from work who ive been using so far, who have given me a reasonable price. I imagine it would be a fairly major task trying to paint one...getting into all the nooks and crannys. Hows yours going?

It goes for an emissions test on the 2nd of December then it goes for rego ASAP after that. Hopefully before Christmas it'll be driving on Aussie roads, only the second one in Oz!

Its a custom job I got made up here in NZ. Cross-flow, with oil cooler at the bottom. Saved a lot of hassles trying to find a position for an oil cooler that would actually catch any air.

Hello! Does anyone have any experience using an NB dash as far as fitting it to the kits cowling? I seem to have to grind a load off the top of the dash. Anyone done this?

Yeah I have done mine and it's not perfect but I did need to trim a lot of the original dash cluster, (did not enjoy that at all!) ialso had a locating screw through the middle of the top of the dash and the dash pod. It's not seamless but it looks ok

Thanks Evan. I've attacked it and managed to get as good a fit as it will ever be I think. My fibreglass cowl is not very well shaped which doesn't help. I had to have the odometer reset in a cut out in the bottom strip of the cowl which is okay, and the bottom of the gauges is slightly obscured by this bottom strip, so I will do a bit more trimming to clear these as having the bottom of the gauges hidden will make my OCD flare up badly lol. It's having the exhaust fitted today so I will post some progress pics soon. I'm also working on the loom...holy crap, its not my favourite part to date

Totally wrapped with how the exhaust has come out. It's 3inch all the way with a high flow cat to a resonator (this has been modified to ensure ground clearance) through to an AdrenalinR rear muffler. All intended to flow as well as possible. The guys at www.sincocustoms.co.nz have out done themselves on this one... Collecting first thing in the morning so im onto the loom tomorrow after work!

Well she's well and trully on the road now and had its first (albeit tame) run around a track. Its simply a thrill to drive. I've had it on a basic tune since the engine build, running around 200kw. Now the engine has some hours under its belt I've had it retuned. It reached 260kw at the wheels (hubs) before the supposedly HP clutch I had made up decided to start slipping. The MAP sensor is also struggling to cope at this boost level, so we've turned it back to 240kw (320bhp) for now. Running the closed loop boost control has it spooling much faster than before also. I will post the dyno sheet when I have it. This little engine is pretty extraordinary. It is completely happy at these power levels (with supporting mods obviously), getting close to 4 times the factory output. Amazing. Any bets on how long my 6spd and diff will last lol? Here is some photo candy for you...
