I had a similar issue with my seats being wide.
For the outer mounting I made a bracket that bolted to the mount and the belt tag bolts to it. It looks a bit like an piece of angle iron but there is a curve in it to follow the chassis rail.
For the inner I mounted to the box section under the tunnel, the bolt being horizontal not vertical. However on the passenger side I had to have a piece welded into the box section to replace what RTR cut out.
Adjusting the lap belts is a bit of a fiddle but not too hard.

Nice thinking on the belts I disagree with the examiner. Totally on the brace. The fact that you have had to extend the pedal box down by more than another rocket, effectively puts more torque on the mounts. Its levers, and physics. So, the brace bar the examiner has specified, is as much use as a chocolate fireguard. It will help remove twist, from a pedal / clutch press, providing the pedal box flexes. Which it doesn't. If hes happy with that, and passes you. so be it. You have done what he asks. The way you could approach things, from a car building perspective, is fatigue. It plagues nearly all rockets. 1-2mm of flex now, will have greater potential for fatigue over the years. I have looked at my build, and this part bothers me. I have already had fatigue around the rocket rear. Yet... no design changed up to Stuarts latest design. Sounds like you have had an interesting IVA...

I have fitted the steering rack covers that Matt (griffalo) so kindly sent to me, Thanks mate. I have also been tidying my wiring up. There seems to be a lot of it compared to others, but I put this down to being a different engine and ecu. It's getting there, just needs a little more split condiut. I have now done the seats too, not my best days work but I intend to tidy up the seats and have them painted over winter. The important thing is now they and my belts are IVA compliant but more importantly they are safe. I will add pics when I have refitted the seats and new belts. I have my IVA re-test date of 10am Wednesday 12th October in Nottingham, so I have a week to get it finished and ready. I'll post more photos when I've finished, hopefully over the weekend.

Nice.. Dont forget nut covers on the track rod end nuts Yep I've done them. I'm also going to take loads of trim, tie wraps, tubing, glue, spanners, jack and axle stands etc. Most importantly a load of crisp £20's for a bribe in case it fails again

Lol, I thought it said "a load of crisps" like you were expecting a long day! I spoke to the examiner to re-book and he said "ahh it'll only take a few minutes."

Pictures of the lower mounts themselves? I didn't change the mounts at all. Just threaded the belts through the seats. I did buy Caterham style Sabelt 4 point harness's though which have the lap adjusters closer to the buckle for ease of use.

Yes I'm very happy, I had visions of him failing it on something silly. The contentious brake pedal box brace bar was fine, he was very happy with it. He was also very happy with the seat belts, which put my mind at rest. I also didn't pay for the re-test as they are having computer problems and couldn't take my payment so that's a bonus Now I'm going to register it and start the winter tear down and make a few post IVA 'adjustments' Time to take the hammer to that horrible engine cover
