It is possible that the reason your coil pack and flasher unit and dash failed is due to high voltage? Have you checked battery volts when its running? If not ecu controlled the alternator can put out more than 15 volts.

I have Stuart, it's around 14 volts when the engine is running.

I see the exhaust looks familiar The tailpipe should be radius perfect I did that around the corner of the IVA station after examiner put it as a test point fail.. Quick reshape, and drove back round after 15 minutes Passed it!

I took my Rocket for a Mock MOT today as I wanted to make sure my brakes, lights and emissions are all OK ready for my IVA.
I had to adjust the drivers side headlight up a bit but other than that it's fine. Strangely my hazard switch flashes (just the switch) when the left indicator is on but not when the right indicator is on. It also flashes (as it should) when the hazards are on so I need to look into that.
My brakes reading were as follows, I don't know if this is good/bad or what. The MOT tester didn't seem to know either due to the weight of the car.
FRONT n/s 95 (brakes locked) o/s 97 (brakes locked)
REAR n/s 116 (brakes locked) o/s 114 (brakes locked)
HANDBRAKE n/s 81 (didn't lock) o/s 91 (didn't lock)
The handbrake only managed around 50 the first time, so I guess it bedded itself in a bit for the second try. Does anyone know what minimum requirement is for a pass on braking settings? would this pass?
Now I have a problem with emissions, I think I may the sensors the wrong way around or something as I get an emissions sensor error on my ODBC reader and Co2 was at 5. I believe this should be below 2? I'm going to play about with the o2 sensors and see if they are wired correctly.
I drove it to the MOT testing station and did about 30 miles in total. The ride is very hard, I have uprated springs so I think I may switch back to standard springs, but apart from that it drives very nice. It's very quick in every gear with approx 220bhp, even in 5th from 40mph the torque is just amazing.

I have my IVA date through, it's Wednesday 7th September. But.. I am having problems with the emissions. I have plugged in my ODB2 reader and was getting both o2 sensor errors which eluminates the MIL light (honda engine) and overfuels the engine causing excessive smoke.
To cut a long and very boring short I ended up replacing both o2 sensors but still have a problem. I have traced the problem to a wire which should run from the heater circuit of the lambda sensor to the ECU. But here is where it gets strange, I have the wire in my engine loom at the lambda sensor end but no wire at the ECU end. This is a complete loom which I haven't stripped anything from so I haven't cut the wire out. Furthermore the pin that the wire should go to has never had a wire in it and I can't find a wiring diagram showing the Lambda wire going anywhere else.
I have now traced to where the wire from the lambda sensor ends - it's a multi-plug that plugs into another loom I suspect, and that's the loom I don't have. I have run a wire direct to the pin on the ecu but that hasn't fixed it. To add to my problems I go on holiday for 2 weeks today getting back home on 1st September. That gives me a week to sort the problem.

The switch flashes because of how u have tapped into warning circuit and you have a back feed need to put a diode into prevent it 20p fix

I have postponed my IVA due to having a Lambda Sensor problem still. The engine seems to be over fueling and smoking too much to pass emissions and I have a heater circuit fault on the lambda sensor even though I have replaced both o2 sensors, tripple checked the wiring etc. I just don't have time to fix this now so it's on hold indefinately. :-(

I had a spare half hour last week so decided to remove the ECU to see if I could visibly see a problem with it. As I was removing it I noticed a rattle from inside the ECU casing. It didn't do that before. After removing the cover I noticed a small electrical component had come off the main circuit board. It looks like the solder had melted and the component was fried (see picture). This must have happened when I also fried the distributor. As there are two of these components I presume one is for the Primary O2 sensor and one for the Secondary O2 sensor. I bought a used ECU off ebay for just £25 but my problem then was that the ECU is coded to the key. I could'nt just swap the ecu over. I looked into having my key coded to the new ecu but no one seemed to know how to do it - apart from Honda who wanted £380 for a new key. In the end I just un-soldered (is that a word?) the component from my new ecu and soldered it into my original ECU and crossed my fingers. I put everything back together and it all works perfectly. No errors and no excessive smoke. So it's now finished and I now need to re-book my IVA.

I called today to re-book my cancelled IVA... it's this Wednesday (21st September, the day after tomorrow). Apparently they are quiet this week??? So fingers crossed

The best of luck bud. I love honda engines so to me your car rocks. Not a fan of the wheels but the rest looks ace 😎
Bet she dances when opened up.

Cheers Nate, I just tested my lights before loading on to the trailer and you guessed it, no lights, horn or cooling fans... arrrghhhh! it was a blown fuse but every time I replaced it kept blowing the fuse. A panicked hour later I noticed a bolt which holds the centre console in place was just touching the terminals on the back of the fan switch causing a short. Quick fix and it's all loaded up ready for the trip tomorrow. I've virtually packed my garage into the boot of the car in case I need to make any quick fixes tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
