gwnwar ... by "set it off straight like one degree" do you mean up / down, or left to right? Hope that question makes sense and doesn't sound foolish !! Curiously, my ~ 120k mile donor had noticeable notchiness in all four u-joint axes of rotation right near center (again, hope that makes sense). I am guessing this was from that the PO's kid did to the car while trying to kill it after daddy gave it to him, but then again maybe something else was at play here, such as a PPT mis-alignment in its prior life ?

Today was another major day in the build process. I paid the invoice for the remainder of the chassis and accessories to Exomotive and a couple of heavy boxes arrived. The tall box contained the V-Maxx XXtreme coilovers and a pair of spanners. Overkill for sure but since I am using a NB donor I can reuse my upper mounts and save a hundred bucks so that evens it out right? The smaller square 60 pound box contained the little big brake kit and rotors. So much awesome in one day! Tomorrow I should be able to install the rotors, brakes, and wheels. I would do it tonight but I don't have any red locktite. Four different kinds of blue locktite but, no red. Dammit.

Another major milestone...
Build cost has now exceeded 20K.
Major items still needed: Seats Seat belts Headlights Taillights Turn Signals
I will share my full build cost spreadsheet when the car is, um, mostly "done?"
I probably could have stopped after the shell was separated but the donor had some leaks and unknown miles on the timing belt.

You're not too far behind me. I'm at $26k with the FMII....
Does your list include selling left over donor parts? I'm hoping to recoupe $1500 from that.

I have only sold $180 worth of parts. People are cheap down here. I got an offer of $50 for the hood and trunk lid. I plan to sell most of the smaller parts on the bay of E.

Give you a hell of a deal on the headlights I bought for my exocet if you want them. Decided to go with a different style.

I am still looking at headlight options. I think I want to go with a small LED projector type setup if I can find something I like.

The FedEx truck showed up this morning with my eBay OBX header. It is a stainless 4-2-1 that I picked up for $165.00 with a "Best Offer" I was also able to install the Little Big Brake Kit. I love the look of those Wilwoods. and the rears I still have to install the coil over top hats and then I may bolt the wheels on tomorrow!

Your build is coming together really nicely, agree the brakes look very nice. Guess you know this but it' far easier to attached the shocks once the chassis is in place.

Very interested to see if your steering shaft clears that particular header ...

Very interested to see if your steering shaft clears that particular header ... This is one of the headers that clear the steering without modification.

If you look closely, the coil overs are just sitting in the brackets. I haven't installed the bolts. I figured that at the minimum it would be easier to install the top hats with the shocks not on the car.

This is one of the headers that clear the steering without modification. That's good to know. It looks like the tubes are all clear the line of the steering shaft but I will know for sure in a few days.
