Great videos. You have me worried that my FM vmaxx are gonna be unbearably stiff on Michigan roads. Some would say they ride as good or better than OEM, but I have trouble believing it.

Center mirror looks very "Can Am" / Formula 5000'ish. Awesomely cool!!

Center mirror looks very "Can Am" / Formula 5000'ish. Awesomely cool!! Unfortunately, there isn't much visibility from it once a passenger seat is installed. With the narrower center tunnels being produced now, I can't say I recommend one on a sport chassis. A center mirror mounted higher on a race chassis would be great.

Hmmm - back to the drawing board on that one for me, I guess, as I have the combo of Sport chassis (with narrow tunnel) and soon to be added passenger seat. Maybe a 'quick release' passenger seat.

I think this quote seems appropriate (One of my favorite movies Gumball Rally) Just sub in Exocet for Italian Franco: And now my friend, the first-a rule of Italian driving. [Franco rips off his rear-view mirror and throws it out of the car] Franco: What's-a behind me is not important.

I removed the center mirror today. Both motorcycle mirrors I tried don't articulate far enough on the passenger side for use on a car. Solved: Cut wedges at 12-15* on each side (for a 24-30* wedge), and enlarge the chassis hole enough to allow the bolt to pass through at an angle.

I managed to screw the pooch on the instrument binnacle cover. Placed a paper template at least 1/2" too high, leaving a large gap between the top of the gauges and cover. I'm not that disappointed; the cover was 3/16-1/4" thick all around, and surprisingly heavy. I attached the OEM cover using a couple small pieces of sheet metal (see the self-tapping screw). For longitudinal stability (it bounces around at speed), Another thin piece of sheet metal is clamped between the steering column mount brackets, attaching to the cover. No more bouncing. I have the gauges mounted to the lower holes of the bracket (see where the upper part is sawed off). Also, they are set back 1.5" via aluminum spacers. This also required removing some material (widening the gap) on the lower part of the cover.
How it sits for now. When the wind screen is installed, it will likely require trimming the front of the cover.

After bleeding the clutch and adjusting it per the (very specific) instructions, I was unhappy how high the pedal had to sit in order to fully disengage the clutch. I spoke to Keith at FM who said the Happy Meal was designed with a longer throw to give a lighter pedal. He suggested I could move the push rod mounting point on the pedal. It started 1.75" from the pivot. I moved it to 2 & 11/32, for a 34% decrease in required clutch pedal stroke. The increased effort is noticeable, but is easier than moving my whole leg as far as before. I was able to lower the pedal to a more natural position, too. The top hole is the factory position.

Thousand Oaks, but I get around in this thing. Perhaps I can come pay you a visit?
BTW, I saw Elon getting into his Falcon about 8-10 months ago just after I closed the door to the CJ2 that I fly.
