Think your rear axle casing looks the business, very visible on a Exocet so well with doing. I wasn't sure about it at first as it was a last second decision but after assembling the roller skate, it seems just right.

I've been eying these brackets too. Keith from FM has bee working on the lighting kit for the Exocet, so I'm also curious to see what he comes up with.

Yeah I inquired about the tail lights they were working on. All I was told was that they are still in the works. Ever seen the new mustang tail lights with the arrow effect turns? I wonder if there's something like that out there for kit cars.

Just how would you mount the headlamp brackets.. The part for the rail/fork does not split open it is made to slide over the forks then into head brackets..

Back to the topic of the Miata coolant reroute: There are plenty of kits out there that allow you reroute the coolant to the back of the head but I wasn't too happy with most of them... It got me thinking what this FWD configuration looked like. Simple google foo and I find out the Mazda 323 GTX is the FWD car with this engine. It's turbo charged too! If you look close you can see the radiator return hose goes to the side of the engine on top of the trans and that's where the thermostat housing is. Problem is, it's pointed towards the turbo side of the engine. I don't want to run a coolant line above the turbo. More research reviled something even more handy. The thermostat housing on the front of my engine can be moved to the back side! Here's the thermostat housing. And here is the back side of the engine. Note its just a plate with the coolant sensor and the heater core hose fitting. Low and behold, the thermostat fits right in there like it was meant to be! And guess what else fits right on. Well it almost fits. The coils are in the way. Two solutions to this: Solution A: Mazda Speed Miata valve cover and ignition coil setup. Solution B: FM GM coil setup with longer plug wires so the coil pack can be mounted on the Exocet firewall. www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?deptid=4529&parentid=0&stocknumber=04-59100%20%201994-00Leaning towards option B because he Hydra ECU allows for sequential ignition plus better spark means better everything. So the next step is to head to the local parts store and see if I can find a long twisty radiator hose that will neatly go from this point to the radiator. Best part about this is the coolant sensor housing I took off the back of the engine bolts right to the spot on the front of the engine. Just need to extend the wires for that sensor. And now (because the Exocet won't have a heater core) that fitting as well as the return fitting for the heater core can now become my coolant lines for the turbo.

Some more parts showed up this afternoon. Brand new OEM timing belt covers, new plugs/wires, driven steering wheel, OEM axle seals and 2x shifter rebuild kits (one for the Exocet one for the DD miata). Been waiting for planet miata to ship me this stuff for a while. Customer communication is non-existent but at least I got my parts. You guys should very seriously consider buying NEW OEM timing belt covers. They fit perfect and do what they're supposed to do. I paid $100 for them. Better than having your old expletive deleted ones rubbing the timing belt... Oh and I did these today because the engine needed more yellow. Shortly after I got a complete engine finally. Special thanks to gwnwar for a post I read in another thread about clocking the crank sensor properly. The pipe sticking down is going to be the coolant feed for the turbo. Got an idea rolling around in my head to make a stainless hard line to route coolant neatly to the turbo. After that was finished, I could finally install the rear diff mounts and axle seals and finish assembling the rear end. So purdy.

That's the nice thing about powder coating. It is so much more durable than paint when it comes to normal wear and tear. Hell, I would powder coat the body if it weren't Fiberglass!
