I'm just interested in the header, have a spec miata exhaust I am going to use for now with possibly a second muffler. I can understand wanting to sell the package though if you modified the 2 flanges. I was just planning on cutting the flanges and using a band clamp.

Gotcha, yeah I'd like to sell it complete since it had to be modified and will work best as a complete exhaust system.
The header was less than $200 I believe off eBay.

Well I called FM and placed my order for the FM2 kit last night, should be here in 3-4 weeks. In the mean time I will remove the oil pan and drill/tap for the oil drain.

I have been on the fence the last few weeks, going with hydra though. It can be def be done cheaper with the MS, but by the time you get a pro tune you are close to the full FM2 kit with hydra. Another reason is buying 1 complete kit from 1 vendor and having the customer support with the electronics which are not my area of expertise.

I would not remove the oil pan to drill hole for return unless your will be rebuilding engine. There is a baffle plate in there between pan and block and all glued together..Just use some grease on your drill bit and tap to catch metal bits.. flush when done with cheap oil let drain. The screen on pickup will catch anything left..When drilling you want to just go through the pan so you don't hit pickup tube..use sharp bit..

The FMII kit comes with a brand new drill bit specifically for this.

That's exactly what I was planning on doing but speaking to the tech @ FM last night and he recommended pulling the pan since to motor is already out. I think I will leave the pan alone since it is not leaking and do what you guys recommend and take my time.

I did it with the motor already installed in the Exocet... No fear. No issues.
If (when) my motor dies, it won't be from a few flakes in the pan.... You're already asking the poor old thing to crank out 2.5x the power it had stock. What do you expect?

Pulling the pan isn't fun. I did it on mine because there was clearly a leak. Cleaning the old sealant off the pan and applying new sealant was a pain. If you don't have to, I wouldn't. As for the turbo kit, that seems like a trend with Exocets these days. Mine arrives this week!

Good deal. What exhaust are you going to run? Did you get the NB downpipe?

Don't get an NB downpipe unless you want to play clock the flange again.

Thanks for the heads up, I haven't gotten a clear answer from anyone yet. What exhaust setup do you have?

I don't understand, why not get the NB downpipe?

The new tunnel design has clearance issues with the NB setup. Get the NA downpipe.
