My FM happy meal arrived so it's time to yank the motor out. I drove the car one last time yesterday to fill up the gas tank and add stabilizer. I drained the oil and changed the rear diff fluid after running the new OBX LSD for almost 3k miles. The only real pain was removing the intake manifold to unhook the fuel line at the fuel rail, other than that it was super easy to work on.
I hope to order the FM2 turbo around Feb-Mar and get it running by spring.

Luke,
About how long did it take you to pull then engine (start / finish)? Reason I ask is the one failed component I have is my rear main seal - despite changing it when I had the opportunity to, and even using the FM rear main seal press to install the new one. Mini rant aside, repair of this issue is on my winter 'to do' list, and engine pull looks to be easier than a transmission pull.

I actually messed up my first seal when I put it in last winter, I didn't have the right tool so I understand your pain.
I was taking my time and worked 3 hrs Sat night and another 2 on Sunday. These things are super easy to work on, if you are working quick you can get it pulled and reinstalled in a day I'd say.

Just got the engine all buttoned up, put new plugs in for the turbo too. Now it will sit for a few months until I get the $$ saved for the FM2

You should, if you haven't already, tap the oil pan while the motor is out!

Definitely, I plan to install the turbo with the engine out, should be easier this way.
Where you at with your turbo plans?

I am in awe of how clean your wiring is.

Thanks Jon, I spent 2 weeks on the wiring alone, I wanted it to look as clean as possible. I have been trying to decide on the turbo kit vs an engine swap, but I don't want to rewire the whole car again.

Although a recently started build log with a Honda V6 swap REALLY has my attention. (See Exocet #167 in Tacoma WA if interested).

I saw the same thread and have been thinking about the same swap, that would be the one I would do for sure. I just don't want to splice the harnesses together and worry about the rest of the driveline holding the power.

Luke - do you want to sell that OBX header if you still have it? I found out the header that came w/ my JDM VVT engine is a rare Mazdaspeed that was made by MAxim Works. Worth too much to hack off the flange to clear the Exocet's tunnel.

I was actually going to sell the complete exhaust; header and Enthuzacar Exocet exhaust with high flow cat and twin tip muffler that I got ceramic coated.
It will be 100% bolt up to a NB and be everything you need. I have over $1200 in it and will let go for a reasonable offer.
