Yesterday I got the transmission degreased and cleaned up. I also replaced the gasket and seal on the input side as well as the small shifter boot. This week I plan to clean up the engine then pick up my parts from the powder coaters on Saturday.

Did you check the plastic bushing on lower end of shifter and fill turret with gear oil..

Yes sir, bushings were good and I tried to get most of the old oil out before topping it off with new oil.

Yesterday I picked up my parts from the powder coaters, they turned out very good. I had 19 parts done, color is gloss black. I replaced the boots on the upper ball joints, I used a vise and a 32mm socket to press the new ones on.

Managed to reassemble the front and rear sub frames, tomorrow my OBX LSD will arrive and I'll get that installed and see how many to goes. I installed the new rear main seal last night, next big purchase will be the FM Happy Meal.

The OBX LSD arrived and looks good. I purchased the rebuild kit that is recommended with every install, it consists of new belleville washers and stronger bolts for the case. Swapping out the parts was easy, I made sure to torque them down properly and use loctite on the bolts. I split the differential apart and cleaned the old RTV from both halves, I am borrowing a dial indicator and large set of calipers to measure the backlash before I remove the old diff. I've never installed a diff before, but I'll take my time and take lots of pics. Any pointers from people who have swapped the diff in a 1.8 before??

I got the clutch and flywheel back together, I decided to go with the OEM Exedy clutch for now. When I pull the motor to install the FMII turbo next year I will upgrade to the Happy Meal clutch. Last night I finished assembling the roller skate.

Since there is not much left to do before my chassis arrives in January (hopefully) I think I'll get the valve cover and intake manifold powder coated, I'll probably do New Tucker Orange to match my chassis.

^ thank you sir, me and the dog go down in the garage and crank the tunes and do a little work each night. I think I'll slow down a bit when it comes to the wiring harness lol.

Small update: got the new slotted rotors on. I had to take off the ugly OEM wheels, they didn't look right with all the new powder coated parts. The project will most likely sit like this until the chassis arrives after turkey day.

Where did you get the "The stainless lines are awesome, everything is straightforward and organized. I was hoping it take me more time to install, but it was quick and easy.""
