Engine assembled (but not in) still waiting for the clutch as it is on 3 weeks delivery !!, steering column cover is made just finishing off the detail/trimming/fitting etc. Tunnel made and trimmed but needs fitting. Seats fitted with home made runner mounts. Currently making center console - Pattern and tooling made and carbon part should be done this week. Lots of other bits on the go which is all keeping me busy. Will try and get some pics up this weekend My target of Newark quickly went out the window !!

mabbs, the car is stunning! absolutely awesome, well done mate. and thats at half finished! just out of interest, you mention a couple of times that you have had moulds etc made for certain parts, lets say some carbon fibre parts for example, just wondering if these moulds are still available if people wanted to buy items from you? could be a nice money making thing for you, and maybe money saving thing for us mev builders!?

Hi Froggy, Yes the molds are available, but the carbon parts would not be exactly cheap. Their are other ways of making the components from the tools which would be a lot more cost effective. I am just concentrating on what I want at the moment and I am not looking to make money from the build/molds, but if people see something they want I can get the molds to RTR to make the parts for you. A couple of people have expressed and interest for some components so I will get the tooling to RTR when I have finished. Will keep you posted.

It has been a lengthy progress making parts made but they seem to be coming together now. A few more parts added: Carbon steering column cover completed - at last. Carbon tunnel made and fitted. Rivet nut the floor and fitted St.St button heads. Thought this was going to be a bit of a nightmare but married up very well. Had to make my own runner-seat brackets. After testing some carbon and GRP type seats, I decided to opt for a more comfortable seating. Taking a long time to decide which seats I was going for (did not want nothing too big or bulky) I was told they were discontinued But luckily the factory in Italy had one set remaining in red. These have added some weight from the 3kg carbon seats I was going to fit, but they can be changed at a later date easily if i decide to go 'gram' hunting: The seat pads were 6" thick which made me sit very high, so I am having some thinner seat pads made out of memory foam and covered in the same material as the seats !! How the Rocket looks at the moment: Just the harnesses to fit which I will do tomorrow and then out of parts again. Fingers crossed, the engine should be with me this week, as well as the carbon bonnet and center console ;D

Regards Jim Hi Jim, Not started the electrics yet, just getting the parts in place then will probably look at starting to fit the loom soon. Changed my mind again on the dash/gauges but have finally decided to go for a Dash2 with their new Dash4 Pro.

Harnesses done: Seem to have a lot of adjustment length remaining. Has anyone had theirs trimmed back sensibly ?

Hi Jon
I have bought the sparco belts, I have done trial fit and they will need trimming. I will have to fold and sew the cut edge, do not want a load of loose material.
Will put some pictures up during the week.
Regards Jim

Don't cut them!!! Just do what all the race drivers do. Roll the excess up and hold together with a cable tie.
